malta retires from competitive play
The three-time Major attendee has departed from VERTEX.

Former Grayhound and Renegades rifler Liam "malta" Schembri has hung up his mouse and keyboard after a seven-year-long career in and around Australia's best sides.
His swansong was IEM Sydney, where he posted a 1.06 rating despite VERTEX's home campaign ending in a 13-16th placed finish.
"I'm glad I was able to catch up with so many people this past weekend at IEM," malta said on X. "It's been an absolute blessing to play this game professionally but I need to move on and see what else there is in life!"
malta's career began in earnest at Sydney 2017, where Chiefs upset Renegades and North and narrowly missed out on the arena with a fifth placed finish.
The Maltese-Australian went on to appear at a total of 11 Big Events over his career, including all four iterations of IEM Sydney, and three Major Challengers stages.
VERTEX are now:
Toby "BRACE" Barnes
Jared "hazr" O'Bree
Jordan "pz" White
Christian "ADDICT" Pendleton
