OG knock NIP out of Roobet Cup

OG are the eighth and final team into the quarter-finals.

OG have eliminated the experimental Ninjas in Pyjamas roster from Roobet Cup to secure a quarter-final berth. After trading map picks it came down to Ancient, where OG prevailed 13-9 after accelerating beyond NIP in the second half.

Ninjas in Pyjamas had been competing with Patrick "⁠es3tag⁠" Hansen as the temporary in-game leader, with a permanent solution set to be announced soon.

The tournament might have shown an early blueprint for the new roster, with Fredrik "⁠REZ⁠" Sterner restored to more active CT positions to act as the rifling star alongside Kristian "⁠k0nfig⁠" Wienecke after role clashes disrupted the Ludvig "⁠Brollan⁠" Brolin lineup.

OG are not without roster speculation of their own, after Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković was linked to ENCE as part of a possible domino effect of Falcons targeting Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer.

Regardless, nexa and OG started the series on their pick of Mirage and, as they would eventually do on Ancient, took control of the map late on at 10-10 to win 13-10 and take a 1-0 lead.

They failed to do the same on Overpass after managing just six CT rounds, falling prey to a REZ masterclass as the Swede validated the decision to restore him to his A Toilets role on both sides of the map.

That took us to Ancient, where OG swiftly took control with a 5-0 lead. NIP narrowed the gap to 7-7 before a nexa 4K woke OG back into the game. Rounds were traded briefly, but like on Mirage it was OG who outlasted the pressure.

nexa's squad won five in a row from 8-9 down on the CT side in an all-important string, closing the map 13-9 to set up a quarter-final against Virtus.pro on October 31.

The result means that OG have moved into the top eight, already matching their best result with the new roster that was built around Dion "⁠FASHR⁠" Derksen and Iulian "⁠regali⁠" Harjău this summer.
