Lynn Vision claim IEM China 2024 spot over TYLOO

TYLOO seemed set to take the win, only to collapse in the second half of the final map.

TYLOO collapsed on the final map to grant Lynn Vision their victory

Lynn Vision have sealed their spot at IEM China 2024 with a 2-1 victory against TYLOO in front of a sold-out crowd of 500 fans, taking Anubis (13-8) and Nuke (16-13) either side of a loss on Overpass (8-13).

Each team took their map picks relatively comfortably before TYLOO seemed set to secure an easy win on Nuke, being 10-5 up and facing a weak buy. Instead they stumbled against the pistols and crumbled mentally, allowing Lynn Vision to ride the momentum all the way to overtime and an eventual series victory.

Across the series it was a team effort in the fragging department that got Lynn Vision their win, but Junjie "EmiliaQAQ" Tang's excellent showing on Anubis was the best performance of the match.

Lynn Vision can now look forward to their participation in IEM China 2024, which is set to feature 16 teams fighting for their share of a $250,000 prize pool in China from April 8-14 next year.

Turning to the series itself, Lynn Vision experienced a rough start to their pick of Anubis, going 2-0 up off the pistol before losing the first gun round and falling to a 2-4 deficit. A couple of multi-kills from Zhe "Westmelon" Niu got his team back on track and their proactive defense was too much for TYLOO’s crawling defaults to handle, resulting in a 7-5 score at halftime.

A won defensive pistol for TYLOO seemed it would herald a close second half, but EmiliaQAQ worked wonders with a Galil to win Lynn Vision their second round force-buy. This spelled disaster for TYLOO’s economy and they were unable to deal with Lynn Vision’s well-coordinated offense, finding only a couple of isolated round wins as Lynn Vision romped to a comfortable 13-8 victory.

EmiliaQAQ kicked off Overpass with a wonderful pistol 4k to help power Lynn Vision’s defense to a 4-1 lead, before TYLOO’s slow defaults began to get to grips with the game. TYLOO’s methodical approach left Lynn Vision with little room for aggressive maneuvers and they repeatedly reset the CT’s delicate economy to run to a 7-4 lead, before a Dongkai "Jee" Ji multi-kill closed the half with a fifth round for Lynn Vision.

Not to be outdone by EmiliaQAQ’s effort in the first half, Jingxiang "Mercury" Wang cooked up a pistol 4k of his own with the Dualies to ensure a strong 10-5 start to the second period for TYLOO. Lynn Vision managed to get themselves on the board with a couple of B hits, before a powerful hold of the A site by Andrew "kaze" Khong’s AWP stopped the comeback before it could really get going; TYLOO duly closed the map out 13-8.

Nuke came through as the decider, and TYLOO achieved a strong start on their CT side, winning the pistol and going 2-0 up. Lynn Vision picked up the first gun round and broke the CT economy to put together a streak of four rounds, but TYLOO recovered when they got guns back up and reasserted control. TYLOO’s smart mid-round adjustments made for a potent defense, but surrendering the four-round streak earlier in the half meant they only garnered a 7-5 lead heading into the final half of play.

Lynn Vision struggled badly at the start of their CT side, losing the opening kill nearly every time and looking lost when rotating in the mid-round. TYLOO got to a 10-5 score and were cruising towards a series win, only to fumble against a very weak buy, allowing Lynn Vision to rescue their ruined economy and get back into contention. This resulted in a back-and-forth end to the game, with TYLOO seemingly unsettled after their earlier calamity, and Lynn Vision managed to force overtime.

The trend of Lynn Vision riding their momentum and TYLOO making mistakes continued into the extra rounds, resulting in a straightforward 4-1 score in overtime for Lynn Vision to seal the series victory.

he's unfortunately China's best IGL. If they could find a suitable successor for him, they could easily have done so by now.

Eh, there’s still the local hero invite. And they’re obviously going to dump that onto TYLOO since they’re the only other major Chinese team. This qualifier is basically serving as a test for hosting in China, and for LV and TYLOO, probably a warmup and motivation boost for CAC.
