Official: slaxz- joins M80

The German AWPer is M80's newest addition.

slaxz- is now returning to an English-speaking team

M80 have announced the addition of Fritz "⁠slaxz-⁠" Dietrich in a transfer from ALTERNATE aTTaX, confirming our earlier report. The 24-year-old will take over the position of Adam "⁠WolfY⁠" Andersson, who was removed from the active roster on Sunday.

WolfY departs M80

M80 keep an Americas majority despite signing slaxz-, as Marcus "⁠maNkz⁠" Kjeldsen is the sole other European, which means they will be able to compete in the upcoming Americas RMR for the PGL CS2 Major in Copenhagen.

slaxz- rose to prominence in Sprout and notably attended the IEM Rio Major 2022 with them before a decline in results ended up in him leaving the team.

His journey led him back to ALTERNATE aTTaX at the start of 2023 and reintegration into a German-speaking lineup proved to be a turning point. He showcased a remarkable resurgence and maintained an average rating of 1.20, which put him on M80's radar.

slaxz- will debut for M80 in the upcoming NA ESL Challenger Atlanta Open Qualifier, set to start on Monday, November 13.

he's meant to be an anchor and lurker so he's serviceable. The entire problem with M80 prior to this was WolfY, who had alot of time to prove he's decent but failed.

It's sad for me that wolfy didnt pan out on M80, I watched him during the lyngby vikings/ecstatic time and he was phenomenal, he even had potential when he was on fnatic rising. I do wish that he still finds a team.

Slaxz had his chance to prove himself. Check his stats vs Top20 teams. He is always botting vs good teams. I know about slaxz since 3 years or something, he will never be a T1 AWP, trust me

Good move. Most likely a huge upgrade over Wolfy and if NRG and Liquid news are real I think NA is gonna start getting better and better. New Wildcard also seems good. Probably wont have immediate results outside of Liquid but the entire region getting better teams and thus scrim partners etc. is def gonna help in the future
