MUTiRiS⁠ returns to SAW's starting five

The Portuguese veteran took a short break at the start of November, citing fatigue.

SAW have their in-game leader back

Christopher "⁠MUTiRiS⁠" Fernandes is back in SAW's starting lineup after a two-week break from competition. During that time, António "⁠aragornN⁠" Barbosa had been standing in for the Portugese squad with João "⁠story⁠" Vieira taking up the in-game leader mantle.

SAW have been in and around the top 30 since the turn of the year, but failed to make a mark in their most important LAN appearances at ESL Pro League Season 17 and the RMRs.

MUTiRiS to take "short break" from competition

Without MUTiRiS, SAW narrowly missed out on playoffs of ESL Challenger League S46 in a 2-1 loss to Iberian heavyweights Movistar Riders and crashed out of CCT Central Europe S8 in the round of 16.

SAW's captain now returns to action in time for CCT East Europe S4 and YaLLa Compass Fall. His first match back will be against Pompa in the aforementioned CCT tournament.

He's not my favorite player either, specially on LAN. Online he's pretty good, was in the conversation for best tier 2 awper online a few months ago, but he just disappears on international LANs, keeps choking and not playing like we're used to seeing. But in Portugal he's miles ahead of every other awper, so there's absolutely no one that can replace him

I know he’s raising a kid and has a very lucrative life in streaming now, but it would be cool to see fox play for them again. I don’t know if he can hang at the pro level anymore though, but seeing him and Mutiris reunite would be pretty cool… reminiscent of the old K1CK days (and that period when they played with Poles in Kinguin lmao).

There's a few reasons for why that will never happen. The first one you said so yourself, he's raising a kid, it would be very hard for him to have the time required to play at that level. Secondly, fox hasn't had a competitive project (at the level SAW play) since 2018/19, he's super rusty and would be a very risky gamble to bring him out of retirement to play at that level after so much time. Thirdly, fox is an "old school" sniper, the likes of JW and KennyS, where he's super aggro with spawn plays and repeeks and what not. That's not what a modern sniper does nowadays tho, the meta shifted towards more supportive backline awpers, even aggro awpers like m0NESY and ZywOo play super passive in 80% of rounds, specially on T sides. Fox would have an insanely difficult time to adapt to the meta. Most likely wouldn't ever work and SAW would decay

when was the last time this saw roster won anything relevant even some tier 2/3 cup. All i can remember is them losing every relevant online cup in recent months let alone think they would win any quals to a lan. teams like spirit lfo betboom apeks are miles ahead of them
