Award Show: Talent, Event, Streamer, and Creator of the Year nominees unveiled
The Community Awards, decided exclusively by HLTV users, are a new part of the HLTV Award Show presented by 1xBet.

To pay tribute to important parts of the Counter-Strike community that are hard to quantify through stats and numbers, we have come up with a new category of awards for this year's ceremony: Community Awards.
Decided 100% by the vote of active HLTV users, Community Awards will be given out for the Talent, Event, Streamer, and Creator of the Year to show who the fan favorite was in 2023.
The voting will start on December 21 at 12:00 and end on December 27 at 23:59 . Voting will only be accessible to HLTV users who have registered before the release of this article.
Also, check out the HLTV Award Show page.
Find the list of nominees as well as an explanation for the methodology used to decide them below.
Talent of the Year
As evident by the high number of nominees, this category was a difficult one to decide. Ultimately, we decided to include the talent with the most appearances at S-tier tournaments in 2023, with the logic that the best talent will be at the best events.
We have decided against breaking the award into categories such as caster, analyst, and host, as ultimately many members of talent switch between different roles, and some events such as ESL Pro League approach broadcast work completely fluidly.
Notable omissions from the list are Harry "JustHarry" Russell and Hugo "Hugo" Byron, but the two Brits fell short after just a few top-tier event appearances in the second half of 2023.
Talent of the Year nominees, ordered by S-tier event appearances:
Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez
Freya "Freya" Spiers
James "BanKs" Banks
Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill
Alex "Machine" Richardson
Anders "Anders" Blume
Henry "HenryG" Greer
Conner "Scrawny" Girvan
Tres "stunna" Saranthus
Janko "YNk" Paunović
Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg
Jason "moses" O'Toole
Jacob "Pimp" Winneche
Mohan "launders" Govindasamy
Event of the Year
Using a similar methodology, the shortlist for the Event of the Year was created by looking at S-tier events and the best A-tier arena events from different tournament organizers.
To limit the dominance of the biggest organizers, we have chosen the two most successful events for each company (with the help of data from Esport Charts). An exception was made for IEM Sydney which was included as the first arena CS2 tournament ever.
Event of the Year nominees, ordered chronologically:
IEM Katowice
BLAST.tv Paris Major
IEM Cologne
IEM Sydney
CS2 Asia Championships
BLAST Premier Fall Final
Elisa Masters Espoo
Streamer and Creator of the Year
Finding the most successful streamers and creators was not easy, but we again wanted to have statistical backing to the shortlist we presented for voting. With the help of Stream Hatchet, who provided a detailed data analysis of Counter-Strike Streamers and Creators across multiple metrics, platforms, and content formats, we had a list of the top 100 in both categories.
We then went from the top of the list and double-checked that the user was primarily working in Counter-Strike, and made sure that each person was only on the list where they were ranked higher, eliminating duplicated. For creators, we focused on YouTube, and prioritized those that didn't gain most of their views through short-form content.
That left us with the following ten Streamer of the Year nominees, ordered alphabetically:
bystaxx
fl0m
gaules
izakooo
jaxiTV
Lobanjicaa
ohnepixel
olofmeister
rootthegamer
trilluxe
And these are the nominees for the Creator of the Year, ordered alphabetically:
3kliksphilip
Anomaly
Cachorro1337
HS Top
NadeKing
nartouthere
Polex
Shoke
Sparkles
SuperstituM
SwaggerSouls
TheWarOwl
Stay tuned for the voting which starts on December 21!
