BLAST Premier Fall Final 2023Vitality beat Complexity to make Royal Arena
ZywOo came alive on the Inferno decider to power Vitality to victory.
Vitality have secured a direct berth to the semi-finals of BLAST Premier Fall Final after beating Complexity 2-1, securing one-sided wins on Anubis (13-2) and Inferno (13-7) on either side of an overtime defeat on Nuke (13-16).
Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam spoke before the game about wanting to see more from Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut today, and the French superstar delivered on those hopes as he was far and away the best player on the server.
His performance on the Inferno decider, in particular, deserves to be highlighted as he finished the map with a 1.99 rating, 117.5 ADR, and scored a crucial 1v2 clutch to put Vitality on match point, but the overall level he displayed across the series truly showcased a return to form.
It's an important victory for Vitality to build confidence after their recent roster change, with Shahar "flameZ" Shushan touching on how the addition of William "mezii" Merriman is playing out internally in a post-match interview.
"The good thing about William is the English accent, it makes everybody happy in the team," flameZ said with a big smile on his face after the game. "No matter what he says it just makes us happy, so even with all the experience Magisk has, obviously he is a player you don't want to lose in any team, but William does a good job in filling that spot so far.
"He is a really solid player and I think everybody knew it, he was the IGL in fnatic and still put up numbers, but he is very good and people like him, that's quite important."
Vitality have earned themselves an extra day off as they proceed directly to the Royal Arena on Saturday, while Complexity now need to battle past Natus Vincere behind closed doors to earn a spot.

The arena-qualifying series was full of highlights, but not that many at the start: Vitality simply outclassed Complexity on their pick of Anubis, running away with a dominant 11-1 T side before closing things out in the second half.
Nuke delivered in spades with plenty of action, a back-and-forth start eventually coming to an end with Complexity edging ahead, 7-5. Another battle early into the second half saw the Americans hold on to their lead, but Vitality managed to force overtime before excellent calling and fragging from Johnny "JT" Theodosiou allowed Complexity to edge out the win and force an Inferno decider.
There, it was the ZywOo show, although highlights from the rest of Vitality also contributed towards a dominant CT side. The European combine gave up just three early rounds in the first half and led 9-3 at the break, and then shut down a late comeback effort from Complexity in the second half thanks in part to a 1v2 clutch from ZywOo that put them on match point.
