Monte, MIBR top groups at ESL Challenger Jönköping
3DMAX is the first team sent home following the conclusion of the opening day of the tournament.

Day one of ESL Challenger Jönköping is in the books, with Monte and MIBR advancing to the single-elimination playoffs. Meanwhile, the field has been whittled down to seven teams as 3DMAX have been sent packing following back-to-back group losses.
The highlight of the first day was the Group B winners’ match, a marathon of a best-of-one game that went to four overtimes, with MIBR prevailing over Virtus.pro. The Brazilian team, currently ranked 21st in the world, went into this tournament with confidence running high after qualifying for BetBoom Dacha earlier this week.
The Group A matches were more straightforward as Monte breezed past TYLOO (13-5) and Nouns (13-8). At the end of day one, Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev is sitting at the top of the event's rating leaderboard (1.62), followed by Sergiy "DemQQ" Demchenko (1.44).
3DMAX's official debut ended in disappointment as they finished last in their group after recording losses to Virtus.pro and GamerLegion. This was the first LAN event of the year for the French players.
ESL Challenger Jönköping will continue on Saturday with the remaining elimination match, pitting TYLOO against Eternal Fire, followed by the two decider series. The schedule can be found below:
