Vitality end FaZe's streak at 18 to win BLAST Fall Final

The BLAST Paris Major champions win their first trophy in CS2 after beating an underwhelming FaZe in the tournament decider.

Vitality are the BLAST Fall Final champions

Vitality won the BLAST Premier Fall Final after beating FaZe 2-0 in the tournament decider in the Royal Arena to cap off a dream debut event for William "mezii" Merriman, who finally gets a trophy on his player page.

FaZe came into the match looking to extend their streak to 19 matches and win their fourth trophy in a row, but they produced an uninspired performance, especially on Vertigo, where Vitality were in control almost from the get-go. Nuke was a much closer affair, but an uncharacteristic mistake at 11-11 proved costly for FaZe, who may have made their last appearance with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken.

"I’m just so proud of the boys," Dan "apEX" Madesclaire said after the match. "I didn't expect to win the tournament before coming here. But the grind we made all together—practice, individual — was insane. I love it. I’m speechless. It’s good to win in Copenhagen after losing two years ago."

The French tactician was also happy that Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut proved his doubters wrong. He picked up his 17th MVP award after averaging a tournament-high 1.35 rating. "Guys, who said ZywOo wasn’t good in CS2, for fuck’s sake?"

The series started with a curveball thrown at FaZe in the form of a Vertigo pick. Vitality hadn’t played the map since IEM Cologne 2023 and had only won two of the last six games played on it, so the decision caught fans and pundits by surprise. But apEX’s troops quickly demonstrated a good feel for the map.

Vitality came out the brighter of the two sides, building a 4-1 lead off the back of a full eco victory in the second round. Shahar "flameZ" Shushan found himself on the losing end of clutches in back-to-back rounds, but he kept his cool and led his team to a 9-3 half with a stunning 20-5 score.

More misery was to come for FaZe as Vitality added to their lead with a pistol round win. A solitary frag by Finn "karrigan" Andersen was all that they could muster on the map as Vitality quickly put the game to bed.

Vitality carried that momentum into Nuke and stormed to a 3-0 lead following a 1v1 clutch from mezii in the pistol round. FaZe picked up the pace once their economy was in order and won seven rounds in a row, with Håvard "rain" Nygaard leading the charge with several multi-kill rounds. As the half neared its conclusion, Vitality managed to rediscover their momentum, cutting the deficit to 7-5 with two great rounds by ZywOo.

The second half began with another clutch going the way of Vitality, this time from Lotan "Spinx" Giladi. They kept the pressure going in the gun rounds and kept FaZe from stringing rounds together, building an 11-9 win. FaZe responded with back-to-back rounds to leave their opponents strapped for cash, but then calamity struck: Vitality hit series point with only one gun in hand, punishing FaZe's weak ramp hold, and followed it up with another round to win the match.

I don't think another veto would change the result. Karrigan said, they have flaw in their preparation and especially regarding maps. With most of the other team, it's not a real problem, but with Vitality where they can compete mostly every map, it was too hard. Vertigo is considered a weak map for Vitality, but they pick it because Faze is "trash" on it.

not really the anwser was given in that sentence but in different way, reality is that apEX is the most hardworking person atm in roster and it works with ZywOo wanting something new and challange not to mention the fact Spinx is the core too btw in the roster he's like 2nd man to ZywOo and similiar to zywoo probably wants challange and innovation. But if apEX lost motivation he would be the most kickable element even though that most likely won't happen in year or three. He's 3 years younger than karrigan Ad: apEX atm is doing really great he's somewhat evolving as IGL ZywOo evolving as a player even more Spinx similiar to ZywOo and flameZ could approach his 1st peak performance if setup right way even though not as close as ZywOo and Spinx are to this.

FaZe is only strong team, in this tournament they threw win away CS2 pro tournaments so far (4): FaZe won 3, once second Vitality didn't even make playoffs in Sydney :D

Vitality didn't make playoffs in Sydney and still lost 2:1. The argumentation that Vitality is weak based on Sydney would be like saying FaZe is weak based on Cologne. FaZe had no motivation at the time to win anything in CS:GO, Vitality had no motivation probably to practice in CS2 anymore knowing zonic is gone and Magisk is mid negotiations with Falcons confirmed to be leaving. Not to mention their staff was cut by 25% from 9 to 6

You haven't noticed that CSGO changed to CS2. Different game, so can't compare. Vitality was lucky, everybody knows it, their true strength was seen in Sydney where FaZe destroyed them. Didn't watch first map, but in second map FaZe practically threw sure win away (and third map would been easy for FaZe), for example lose against glocks, ropz on ramp etc. Did you even watch the match? FaZe played second map like tier8 team, like 10x amateur mistakes that they never usually do.

The game isn't so much different. The problem with Vitality was similiar to previous FaZe problem that was my statement not comparing CS GO to CS 2 anyway

Excuses. coL is just bad and FaZe is having Era and is GOAT of CS (two separate Eras as only team in the world and history). FaZe threw countless rounds, but I guess you Muricans only see your own team's mistakes.

flamez could only have cs2 buff with his great mechanics , high sensitivity and his job is to run and headshot it seems even apex got a cs2 buff with his agressive plays zywoo will get even better as vintage zywoo cause he was playing safe to not die.. now he will play awp agressive just like 2019 and before that. in 2 months he will hard carry like he has aAa in the back pack

he won't play awp that aggresive - he will play positionally aggresive awping but not to the point he will be pushing with an awp it doesn't work anymore, he always prefered to play aggresive rifle not aggresive awp that was one time thing on inferno on cs summit.
