Snax: "It’s a matter of time before we fix every problem"
The Polish veteran opened up about GamerLegion's current issues and shared his goals for the rest of 2023.

GamerLegion are out of Elisa Masters Espoo 2023 following a 2-1 loss to ENCE in Group A's decider match. Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski's impressive individual form (1.19 rating) brought a silver lining to what was a disappointing run from the current world No.12 team.
After the elimination, Snax spoke with HLTV about his first weeks in charge of the team, having been recruited just two months ago to replace Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov. He also discussed his return to form in CS2 and his goals for the final tournaments of 2023: BetBoom Dacha and ESL Challenger Atlanta.

How are you feeling after that series?
I would say I feel a little bit disappointed. I think we are a good team with good players but we are lacking sometimes, especially in the third map to go through groups. It happened in Jönköping, it happened in Sydney, we were pretty close in the end. A little bit disappointed, I would say.
The second map, Overpass, was very good. What enabled you to dominate that one?
I think it was really good power from the beginning, like the energy on TeamSpeak, we could feel we were on the same page on Overpass. It was not that hard to play, we like to play Overpass, so I think it was mostly that.
The funny thing about Overpass is that it was my worst map when it comes to calling, I had never played that much Overpass as an IGL, even in the VP times, I didn’t mostly call Overpass, it was other people. Now it has become one of my favorite maps when it comes to calling.
I was actually going to ask about calling: Now that you have had a bit of time in GamerLegion calling full-time, how has it been for you?
I think it’s getting better; obviously, we don’t have that much practice time, we have a lot of tournaments. After Sydney, I think it was one week, maybe 10 days, of a break, so we haven't had that much practice. I understand that in tier one we mostly have to travel, so it’s hard to fix stuff.
It’s still not the best [my calling], it could be better in terms of how we are playing, but it’s just a matter of time before we fix every problem and we solve the errors we are making in matches. Then it’s going to be so much easier for me. Obviously, it’s hard to prepare for six or seven maps, especially when it comes to CS2 being now. Inferno is a little bit different, some of the maps are the same. The changes to smokes are also making you think a little bit differently compared to CS:GO.
I think we are going in the right direction, and I hope it’s going to pop soon and we will play better.
Talking about that transition to CS2, it seems like you individually are still doing really well, making plays and clutching. What do you think about the transition as an individual player from CS:GO to CS2?
For me, the transition has not been that bad; to be honest, I like CS2. Obviously, it has some problems with Valve and those community things, but overall, I like CS2, I think the new addition with the smokes, being able to break them with HEs, is really nice. This is what we needed in CS2 because it gives more options, tactics-wise.
For me, shooting-wise, in offline events, it feels pretty nice, I like to play CS2 and it feels pretty cool. Online, I think it’s shit. It’s getting better with each update. But yeah, I enjoy the game.
GamerLegion have a couple of events left for the year: BetBoom Dacha and ESL Challenger Atlanta, so what are your goals and aims for these events?
I would always answer the same way for those types of questions: I am going for a win, I always like to win, and I’m obviously going to be disappointed if we don’t win. But this is me; if I am going to a tournament, I want to be the best. So yeah, I think that’s the goal, just to win.
