G2 release women’s team
The European organization has let go of players and coaching staff just nine months after putting the team together.

G2 Esports have announced that they have parted ways with G2 Oya, their women’s Counter-Strike squad. The decision comes after a disappointing year in which the team could not make it to the LAN Finals of ESL Impact in either season.
There was plenty of fanfare when G2 Oya was unveiled in March 2023. The announcement marked G2’s first foray into women’s Counter-Strike, and the team was headlined by returning duo Zainab "zAAz" Turkie and Julia "juliano" Kiran, who had left the game two years earlier to further their careers in Valorant.
But G2 Oya had a rough showing in ESL Impact Season 3, finishing 5th-6th in the European division. The team made a change before the following season, replacing Oleksandra "manka" Kruspe with Anna "ramziiN" Ramsing, only to finish in the exact same position.
On Twitter, juliano confirmed that G2 have decided to leave ESL Impact. She added that, while she is open to individual offers, her priority is to continue playing with the team's core. Meanwhile, head coach Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson also wrote that he is assessing his options.
G2 Oya had the following team:
Zainab "zAAz" Turkie
Julia "juliano" Kiran
Anastasia "kr4sy" Khlobystina
Anna "ramziiN" Ramsing
Alexandra "kyossa" Tykhonska
Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson (coach)
Alexandra 'kyossa' Tykhonska
Jimmy 'Jumpy' Berndtsson
Anastasia 'kr4sy' Khlobystina

Zainab 'zAAz' Turkie
