Sprout promote sL1m3 to starting lineup

The 17-year-old has been moved up to the main team after a trial period.

sL1m3 is officially Sprout's new AWPer

Sprout are making further changes to their Counter-Strike roster, promoting academy player Emil "⁠sL1m3⁠" Stolz to the main lineup ahead of the 2024 season. This comes after a period when the 17-year-old played for the team on trial following Ihor "⁠w0nderful⁠" Zhdanov’s transfer to Natus Vincere.

During his trial period, sL1m3 averaged a 1.05 rating, notably helping Sprout to a runner-up finish in CCT East Europe Series 4. However, his best performance came in another tournament, the CCT Online Finals 5, in which he put in a series-high 1.33 rating in the 2-1 loss to G2.

sL1m3 will fill the vacancy created by the departure of Olle "⁠spooke⁠" Grundström, another academy graduate who was given a shot with the main team.

“We're excited to see his growth and the incredible impact he's set to make,” the German organization said of sL1m3 on social media.

Meanwhile, Sprout have confirmed Rasmus "⁠Zyphon⁠" Nordfoss’s return to the starting lineup after he spent almost a month out on loan to HEROIC. He attended both the Fall Final and the World Final of BLAST Premier, raising eyebrows with some solid displays despite the team having very limited practice for both tournaments.
