Secret return to Counter-Strike ahead of Major qualifiers

The European organization has put together a team just in time for the qualifiers.

anarkez returns to Team Secret

Secret have announced their return to Counter-Strike esports with a brand new roster headlined by Paweł "⁠innocent⁠" Mocek and Guy "⁠anarkez⁠" Trachtman. The team is signed up for the PGL Major Copenhagen EU RMR’s first open qualifier, which will begin in a few hours.

This will be anarkez’s second stint with the organization, which is best known for its success in the Dota 2 scene, with multiple deep runs at The International events. Between 2019 and 2020, he played for Secret alongside some of the players who would go on to break into the top 20 in the world rankings with Bad News Eagles.

Rounding out the lineup are Vladan "⁠Kind0⁠" Mandic, who was part of the Serbia roster that placed third at the 2023 IESF World Championship, Mikkel "⁠Maze⁠" Sparvath, who had been on Ambush’s bench since July, and Sebastian "⁠Tauson⁠" Tauson Lindelof, who left Sprout in December.

The news marks innocent's return to action after almost a year on the sidelines. The 30-year-old has been inactive since February, when he took a break for mental health purposes after his Anonymo squad failed to qualify for the BLAST.tv Paris Major RMRs.

“I am beyond happy and grateful for the opportunity to be back with an international team,” innocent told HLTV. “I really needed this long break, but the second we started practicing, I felt really great and motivated to give my best.

“It’s very refreshing for me to join a team with a really professional approach, one where the actions of a player drive everyone else to work harder and do better. I’m sure that this will translate into good results and that we will put ourselves on the competitive map.”
