The Estonian IGL's ban led to The Prodigies' disqualification from EPL 2nd Division Season 9.

The Prodigies have benched consss and referred the case to ESIC

Alvar "⁠consss⁠" Rämman has been banned and The Prodigies disqualified from European Pro League 2nd Division Season 9 after cheating allegations were made against him.

The accusation centers on a 2-0 win over MOUZ NXT, after which the tournament organizer released a 17-minute demo review narrated by NXT's coach, Tobias "⁠TOBIZ⁠" Theo. consss was banned off of TO admins reviewing this evidence, and not an anti-cheat programme.

consss has denied cheating and called out a lack of communication with the tournament organizer. "We never received any information or proof until the video was made public," he said. "I'm available to collaborate and clear my name."

Prodigy Agency CEO Jérôme Coupez took to Twitter on January 17 with an extended statement, criticising EPL for not allowing consss to defend himself and re-iterating the importance of the player's presumption of innocence.

"Despite some suspicious plays, I can not say if cons was cheating or not on these matches, based on the published video, and reviewing the demos — and a lot of people in the community have the same sentiment," Coupez added.

"I have decided to require an investigation from a neutral party: ESIC (Esports Integrity Commission). We will be fully available to collaborate, in order to find the truth and act accordingly. Until further notice and conclusion of the investigation, consss will not be playing with The Prodigies."

Innocent until proved guilty is hard to justify in esports. How do you prove he is cheating? Anticheat isn't a good source because people get falsely banned all the time. You have to realise that people like KQLY or Emilio would never be banned if you'd require 100% proof. While it's impossible to say if the consss is actually guilty, there has to be a certain line of certainty drawn that is below 100% for a conviction. The line ESL holds means that consss is suspicious enough to be banned. You could argue that there's not enough evidence for it, but you can't say they have to prove 100% because a faceit ban is at most like 90% proof, VAC ban is like 70% with all the false bans recently.

Admin was biased when he analyze a video already done and voiced by the rival coach + taking into consideration the community claiming he's cheating. It's not serious, plus it doesn't take into consideration what the accused guy/team has to say and made public the video, which is not even made by the admin. If you think a player is to be banned because you are 100% sure he is cheating, dont use 30-70% fishy clips, use the best 3 you have, build a strong case and not "he waited for 0.5 seconds in jaguar" while the opponent is turning around RELOADING his gun. Makes the case look like shit, maybe he was cheating and maybe when I watch the rest there are some banger clips. For me the sus thing is these clips plus his movement and shit aim. Both together signals to me that the guy should be at best level 9 on faceit. That’s a red flag in itself. He could explain himself why he did what in the various situations as there can be reasons unknown to the viewer. The investigator also seems biased as some of the situations picked out are fairly normal in my opinion. I couldn't and wouldn't convict him as an Overwatcher in CS:GO. Yeah he can easily assume its safe to do so if he doesnt see anyone. Enemy shaking in fear and being scared to peek - ez push. Watched 4 first situations. Situation 3 absolutely gets caught, but enemy just doesn't clear him even if they had 2 players there. You can easily argue here that he has done demo review and understood that this enemy uses close to mid lane in A lobby, and far side is easy to abuse if willing to take some risk. And even if he gets caught, he is so deep that site is not lost.

issue is that there are cheats you cannot detect even if you were to put 20 root lvl anti-cheats on that guy's PC. Human verification is a legit way to ban people, we've done that in many sports and there's no reason for esports to not follow. Impossible to catch those kind of cheats unless there's an admin behind. They should have some mandatory rules like having a double camera setup or some shit like that, so at least it's harder for them to hide if you have a facial camera and one showing the room so if they have another screen it has to be on their back or something.

Euskal Encounter is an annual LAN party in Spain which costs 10euros per person per day, an event catering even 5000 teams would be only 250,000 euros. Obviously events in different countries would have different associated costs but it could be done. It would not be cheap, like i said it would cost Valve probably a few million but even if it cost them 20million thats still less than half a month of revenue from just cases. there is not 100% evidence hes cheating 1)low rating 2)video from mouz was in narration that he cheated, but it was MOUZ narration 3)Good timing could be luck or not. Its not bannable. Also demo from nuke was nothing suspicious, especially mouz coach showing heaven/ct entrance(twice) as a cheat proof while other guy was just running and loud as elephant

There is absolutely no evidence in that video that he is cheating. Some of the so called "suspicious" movement was not strange at all. (it is still possible that he was cheating, but there is no proof in this video) Check sjuush in last round against IKLA, more suspicious movements in that one round that in this entire video ;)

I have to agree with you. You can call it dumb luck or perfect timings, but u cant just ban someone with some strange timings in my opinion. Lets just say its a good thing that this decision was left to professionals and game analysts that have seen thousands upon thousands of hours of footage and not the low iq children of HLTV because there'd be a serious cheating epidemic within the scene. One or two of these things happening in a game is passable, whats on display is consistent "strike it rich " timing , totally unorthodox gameplay and movement, Spotting enemies through objects then making phantom clears and random movements to play down the ESP only to abruptly 360 or make a very strange clear where an enemy is. Contrary to him when a bombsite is empty he makes very poor clears and doesn't care about shadow adv. Not to mention this guy is horrendous at the game. Comes across well spoken and fairly intellectual and those are the ones that will never admit any wrongdoing whatsoever. Also he spoke about how hes cleared for play from his past overwatch ban and thanked everyone involved. "Oh how wonderful! yes thank you, what an error! thank god its resolved! " Mate, The VAC wasnt reinstated, you lost all your skins, and you were 100% cheating. Thats why you got banned. there have been situations where pros get vacced and its removed. not this clown. well done EPL.
