jabbi: "It's all about doing well and having good chemistry inside the team"
The Dane says the Copenhagen Major is the number-one priority for Astralis.

Astralis made signings surrounded by controversy by acquiring Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard from HEROIC at the end of November. The Danes made their debut at BetBoom Dacha, but exited the competition in last place.
Their start to 2024 was much better, with the Danish squad booking their place at the European RMR for the Copenhagen Major while also getting a winning start at BLAST Spring Groups against the newly assembled Falcons roster.

Following the win against Danny "zonic" Sørensen and company, jabbi sat down with HLTV to talk about his start to life in Astralis.
You've played your first LAN match of this year and won quite comfortably. How did it feel from your perspective?
It was a good result, and it's also nice to get a good start at BLAST. We played a lot of official games in 2024 already, but this win feels great.
Would you say Falcons are now another Danish rival because they have two players and a coach?
They have a really good team, and Heroic are also still Danish, they have three players. I don't think we have any rivals, to be honest. But it's always nice to play against good teams.
You had some time to get used to your new teammates. How have these few months been for you?
It's been really good. Today, blameF called really well. And I just think overall, as a team, we did well during the small communication and the overview, we were good at keeping track of things. Those are the big things to take away from this match.
Your previous move garnered a bit of criticism from the community. Does this add a bit more pressure for you?
For me, it's all about doing well with the team, having good chemistry, and just feeling good. That is how you will become a good team, and the thing I'm focused on.
You also went through the RMR qualifier, it went pretty smoothly other than one loss. How important is it for you to make your home Major?
It's really important for us to qualify, it's the Major. Everyone wants to qualify, and it's now in Denmark, so it would be nice to play there. It means a lot.
Astralis now has four HLTV top 20 players in the world. Would you say that you are the best individual team right now in terms of firepower?
There are a lot of teams with a lot of great firepower, Vitality is also really good. But we have five players that can easily win a match on their own. It's a nice gimmick thing to have on the team.
How much has your role changed in Astralis?
We are still trying to learn from each other, how each other plays, and how much you should talk in the rounds. It takes time when you're a new team, but we are working on it, and it's going well.
Talking about the year ahead of you, what do you want to achieve?
I think the expectation is obviously to qualify for the Major in Copenhagen. We don't really have to be a top-three team in three months or whatever, it's all about the progress of the team, that's the important thing.
