Liquid cruise into BLAST Group B final over GamerLegion

It was an easy day at the office for cadiaN's team.

Liquid are through to Group B’s final at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups following a 2-0 victory over GamerLegion. After almost losing to a patchwork Spirit team on Wednesday, Liquid turned in a much-improved display as they breezed past their opponents, led by an inspired pair in Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken and Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic.

Overpass began with GamerLegion picking up an early lead off the back of a trio of Glock frags by Isak "⁠isak⁠" Fahlén in the pistol round. When Liquid’s first round win was immediately countered by their opponents following a clutch by Frederik "⁠acoR⁠" Gyldstrand, many certainly thought that it would be another shaky performance from Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller's side. However, Liquid looked dominant for the remainder of their CT side and went into the break up 8-4 thanks to Twistzz’s efforts (17-4 K-D, 120 ADR and five multi-kill rounds).

GamerLegion kept themselves in the game with a pistol-round win after the side switch, but their comeback hopes were dealt a heavy blow in the following round after spurning a 5v3 situation. With NAF leading the charge, Liquid kept the intensity high and rode that momentum to a clean 13-6 finish.

Things looked dire for GamerLegion heading into Mirage, having lost seven of the last eight games played on the map. However, they were determined to keep things competitive and put in a respectable CT display as the first half ended all square.

The BLAST Paris Major’s losing finalists retook the lead with a clean pistol round on the offense, but that’s all that they could do. Liquid responded in the second round on a shoddy buy and put together a dominant 7-0 run to lock up the map.
