Zyphon steps down from Sprout's active roster

Sprout state the move will allow Zyphon to "avoid potential roster locks" as they negotiate a transfer.

Zyphon is set for a transfer away from Sprout

Sprout have announced that Rasmus "⁠Zyphon⁠" Nordfoss will no longer be part of their active roster, with Daniil "⁠Sdaim⁠" Tupov set to take the Dane's place as a stand-in.

In their post to X/Twitter Sprout stated they were currently in transfer talks related to Zyphon, and that this move would allow the player to "avoid potential roster locks."

Zyphon rose to prominence as part of the Rasmus "⁠HooXi⁠" Nielsen-led Copenhagen Flames squad that turned heads over the course of 2021 and 2022, but was the one member of that lineup that did not manage to earn himself a move to a big-name organization.

The Dane joined Sprout mid-way through 2022 and helped the team make a shock run to the Legends Stage of the IEM Rio Major 2022.

The aforementioned Major appearance was the peak of the squad's achievements as since then Sprout have played mostly in tier two online competitions, their best finishes including a win in European Pro League S10 and taking second in a couple of CCT events.

Recently Zyphon made a return to tier one play as a stand-in for HEROIC, playing at BLAST Fall Final and World Final late last year in the wake of the departures of Jakob "⁠jabbi⁠" Nygaard and Martin "⁠stavn⁠" Lund from the team.

Sdaim, Sprout's chosen stand-in, had been plying his trade over 2023 with The Witchers, who recently disbanded. The highlight of Sdaim's tenure was a victorious effort in Betswap Winter Cup 2023, during which the Ukrainian was the third-highest rated player in the event.

pretty much, he had a rough start aug 22-feb 23 in sprout prior to being benched for a month. He came back did pretty well against top teams until nov 23 went to heroic for a month. Then back to sprout and now probably back to heroic or preasy

In terms of pure aim he is the best player in Denmark but saying he is better than Jabbi is wrong. Jabbi is a top 5 lurker in the world and have been for the better part of 2 years

I think so. It's unlikely mantuu speaks german better than the rest speak english.

Then what is up with keeping and shuffling all these German players? They make no sense, smooya, xantares, mantuu and fucking gade as 5th player. If they want to keep German majority surely they can keep tabsen, Krimbo + 1 German and get 2 solid players. Really sucks to see this team not even make the RMR, they have been plagued with roster problems since Xantares left and they always managed to show decent performances and put up a fight when no one expected them to.

Good for him, he defienietly deserves better than Sprout, I wonder where could he go, there are many international rosters now so I doubt he will have a problem finding new home. Perhaps BIG for s1n now that they speak English? I think it would be an upgrade. GL Zyphon!
