Bad News Kangaroos clinch final EPL S19 spot

The 32-team list of the next ESL Pro League season is now complete.

Bad News Kangaroos have secured a spot in ESL Pro League Season 19 after coming out on top of the Oceania open qualifier for the event.

The former VERTEX squad beat Rooster in a convincing grand final affair to secure their place at the $750,000 event, which is set to take place in Malta on April 23-May 12.

Their qualification will come as a respite from a heartbreaking beginning to the year. Toby "⁠BRACE⁠" Barnes and company lost their organizational backing to kick off 2024 and fell short of qualifying for the PGL Major Copenhagen Asia RMR and IEM Chengdu.

Grayhound had been a thorn in their side in the previous two qualifiers, but with the regionally dominant squad already through, Bad News Kangaroos seized the opportunity to become Oceania's second representative at ESL Pro League.

Although the majority of the teams have already been seeded into groups nearly three months ahead of the start of the next season, it is yet to be announced where the final four qualified teams, including Bad News Kangaroos, Sharks, Imperial and PERA will land.
