FaZe beat Falcons to go 2-0; KOI tally first win

karrigan's side are through to the advancement matches after day one.

After Ninjas in Pyjamas and AMKAL's drawn-out overtime game on the B stream, match lengths have returned to the norm with FaZe wrapping up a 13-7 victory over Falcons to make it to the 2-0 advancement matches and KOI casting 3DMAX down to the 0-2 pool.

David "⁠frozen⁠" Čerňanský was in hot form at the start of the match to ensure his team would fight for a spot at the Major immediately, shutting down Falcons for much of the first half with five multi-kill rounds.

Falcons showed signs of life mid-way through the game, but a handful of lost clutches and a particularly poor showing from Mohammad "⁠BOROS⁠" Malhas (5-16 K-D) meant that FaZe's individuals could overpower their opponents with ease.

KOI have a phenomenal performance from Alejandro "⁠mopoz⁠" Fernández-Quejo Cano to thank for their win over 3DMAX, a 13-8 game in which the Spaniard recorded seven multi-kill rounds and went 27-16 to lead his team to victory.

3DMAX had good starts to both halves but struggled once KOI had guns in hand, with the French side now staring down elimination in the 0-2 pool.
