FMPONE teases first look at new Cache

The community has quickly begun calls to replace existing Active Duty maps with the Chornobyl-inspired level.

After promising to remake Cache for Counter-Strike 2 following the release of the beta test almost a year ago, one of the designers of the map, Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling, has now teased a first look at the new version.

The former Active Duty map is being remade from the ground up, the map-maker said back in June, and it appears at least the Middle part is now finished based on the new screenshots:

FMPONE has since received overwhelming support from pros and other community members, who have already begun to call on various maps to be replaced in favor of Cache.

The Chornobyl-inspired map was last part of the Active Duty map pool in 2019 before it was replaced by Vertigo ahead of StarLadder Major Berlin. It had been in the competitive pool for five years after it made its Major debut in the ESL One Cologne 2014 cycle.

In late-2019 FMPONE and the original creator, Salvatore "⁠Volcano⁠" Garozzo, released a remade version of Cache, which was quickly added to the game for casual game modes, but it has never made a return to the official competitive map pool.
