PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Europe RMR BOG knocked out by GamerLegion in Bucharest
The fresh-faced international lineup only grabbed one win at the RMR.
BLAST.tv Paris Major finalists GamerLegion are still kicking in the EU RMR after eliminating OG from contention with a swift 2-0 victory (Overpass 13-8, Mirage 13-9).
The win came off the back of two massive CT sides, an 8-1 second half on Overpass and an 8-4 start to Mirage as Nils "k1to" Gruhne's T sides were blocked at source.
The fledgling IGL and his young OG squad now head home with a 1-3 record, and will rue missed chances in an 11-13 loss to ECSTATIC that could have put them in the 2-1 pool. Instead, they are eliminated after their first best-of-three.
Overpass began with an illusory back-and-forth as GamerLegion slowly warmed up into the match, but Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski and company still secured five T rounds to end the half in pole position. Domination ensued on CT, taking GL to a 9-4 record on Overpass in the last few months on their usual map pick.
Mirage has been the opposite as of late, with GamerLegion losing the last four. But it was the same story as Overpass, with GamerLegion finding eight rounds on their CT side to all but confirm their place in the 2-2 pool.
A brief flurry of multi-kills on the B site from Maciej "F1KU" Miklas starting in the pistol threatened to kick-start an OG comeback, but it ended as soon as it began after a piledriver of a 1vs4 clutch from Isak "isak" Fahlén.
The 2-0 win could have been cleaner, but GamerLegion can still be pleased by their strong defense as they put themselves one series win away from Copenhagen.
