Grayhound 1-2 Lynn Vision

Junjie "⁠EmiliaQAQ⁠" Tang was caught napping at Squeaky and the force buy works out for Grayhound, but they fumble themselves to keep the force wars going.

A reminder that the winner of this map gets a share of that nine-figure sticker cash, and the loser gets absolute zilch.

First up, The MongolZ secured their core's fourth Major with a win in the upper bracket final over Lynn Vision.

Then we had the lower bracket semi, where Grayhound bounced back from a 4-13 loss to The MongolZ to eliminate ATOX.

The Aussies are now in their second series of the day, 1-1 in maps against Lynn Vision for the second and final PGL Copenhagen spot.

Nuke will decide which team gets the stickers.

Lynn Vision 10-4 Grayhound

A mid brawl favored Lynn Vision in the second pistol round and Zhe "⁠Westmelon⁠" Niu won a 1vs1 against Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong to secure the first round of the second half in his team's favor.

After a 4-4 tie early on, Lynn Vision have kicked into gear and are not giving their Australian rivals any breathing room. The Chinese squad currently have a six round streak going and momentum on their side to reach the Nuke decider.

Lynn Vision 4-4 Grayhound

Grayhound are laying down the law with guns in play as they won three on the trot and are building up an economy while breaking Lynn Vision's. Declan "⁠Vexite⁠" Portelli and Alistair "⁠aliStair⁠" Johnston, with over 100 ADR, are currently the driving forces behind their team.

After losing an their lead on an eco, Lynn Vision won an important buy round to keep things even, 4-4.

Lynn Vision 3-0 Grayhound

Lynn Vision won a crucial 3vs3 in the pistol round to get ahead on the attacking side of Anubis, after which they won against a second round forcebuy and the subsequent eco to make it 3-0 ahead of the first gun round.

Lynn Vision 6-13 Grayhound

The first map has come to an end. Alistair "⁠aliStair⁠" Johnston put the final nail in LV's coffin by sticking a defuse in a 1vs1 situation to take the Vertigo punish pick and the 1-0 lead in the series.

Up next is Lynn Vision's pick, Anubis, although it is also a map Grayhound play and have excelled at and should be no walk in the park for the Chinese side.

Lynn Vision 6-10 Grayhound

Grayhound are three rounds away from locking in their map pick. Despite slowing down on their final T rounds, Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong and company are back in control on the defense as they have won three out of the four first rounds of the second half.

Lynn Vision 5-7 Grayhound

Grayhound's one-sided start lost steam as the half went on and Lynn Vision managed to get the best in gritty rounds, such as the final 1vs2 which went the way of Zhe "⁠Westmelon⁠" Niu to close out the half 5-7 in favor of the Australian side.

Lynn Vision 0-6 Grayhound

Grayhound are off to a perfect start on their Vertigo map pick. After banning Mirage, Lynn Vision were up against a rock and a hard place as the other map they don't play, Vertigo, is one that Grayhound have a 100% win rate on.

So far, Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong and his men are showing why they are the favorites on the skyscraper and why they picked this map to punish the Chinese squad.

The series will go to Anubis next, where Grayhound beat ATOX in their first series of the day, and if necessary Nuke will be the decider.

Lynn Vision lost their first shot at reaching the Major in the upper bracket final, which went the way of a vastly superior The MongolZ. Grayhound, on the other hand, started their day with a victory, beating ATOX 2-1 in the lower bracket final.

The two now meet in the RMR's final series, the consolidation final, where the winner will clinch the second spot up for grabs at the Major while the loser will go home empty handed.

The top teams in China and Australia haven't met so far, which gives them both a blank slate as they head into their final decider match. The two were part of the favorite four at the event alongside The MongolZ, who proved their worth as the upper bracket winners, and TYLOO, who failed spectacularly with losses to local rivals Lynn Vision and ATOX.

Both Grayhound and Lynn Vision have but one loss to their names at the RMR, to The MongolZ, and have proven that they are worthy contenders for the final spot at the Major.

ATOX 5-9 Grayhound

Retakes were the name of the game for Grayhound, who won several important ones on their defense. They were also good in underhanded rounds, winning with weapon inferiority to take a 7-5 lead at the half.

Declan "⁠Vexite⁠" Portelli then downed three to open up the A site on the second pistol round, launching Grayhound to a four round lead early in the second half.

ATOX 2-1 Grayhound

ATOXd dropped the ball against a pistol buy and two saved SMGs, in large part due to a triple on the A site by Jay "⁠Liazz⁠" Tregillgas with a five-seven.

ATOX 2-0 Grayhound

ATOX, starting on the attacking side, took the first pistol round by playing a slow round towards the B site that ended up in a 3vs3 bomb defense. The Mongolians then doubled up against pistols and SMGs.

ATOX 12-12 Grayhound

ATOX lost their lead almost as fast as they got it as Grayhound settled on the defense, but the Mongolians came alive late in the half and broke the CTs' economy to hit match point. Ultimately, however, they weren't able to cross it over the line and extra innings are now underway.

ATOX 8-9 Grayhound

ATOX got blown out of the water on their Inferno map pick, and were constantly trying to play catch-up on the CT side of Ancient, but they finally broke through on the attack and after winning the first gun round of the half took the lead for the first time.

Declan "⁠Vexite⁠" Portelli was quick to slingshot his team right back into it, however, as he made the best of a saved rifle and downed four players to bring it back even before Grayhound won a second and broke ATOX's economy.

ATOX 7-7 Grayhound

Grayhound put up seven rounds on the attacking side of Ancient before ATOX could link three in a row to make it 7-5 at the half.

The Mongolian side then won their first pistol round of the series to make it a one round game, then going on to tie it up against a full save, as they seek to stay alive in the series and tournament.

Grayhound 13-2 ATOX

Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong's side are clearly keen to fight for a spot at the Major and are wasting no time in their effort to battle past ATOX in the lower bracket final, stealing away Inferno with the most dominant scoreline of the RMR thus far, 13-2, after a masterclass defense helmed by Joshua "⁠INS⁠" Potter and Alistair "⁠aliStair⁠" Johnston.

If that's the performance ATOX put up on their own map pick, they're in for a world of trouble as Grayhound head into Ancient with the winds in their sails.

The MongolZ 9-3 Lynn Vision

Dustin "⁠dusT⁠" Mouret questioned Lynn Vision's decision to pick Nuke between maps, and The MongolZ have proved his words true by completely demolishing the Chinese team in the first half.

Lizhi "⁠Starry⁠" Ye's 1vs2 was the sole bright spot in an otherwise completely dismal half for Lynn Vision, who failed to tally a single round after that as Sodbayar "⁠Techno⁠" Munkhbold reigned supreme on the A bombsite and every late round went The MongolZ's way.

The MongolZ 5-3 Lynn Vision

Lynn Vision won their second pistol round of the series to go up 2-0 on their Nuke pick, but have since found themselves throttled by The MongolZ's defense.

Garidmagnai "⁠bLitz⁠" Byambasuren had excellent reads to completely shut down Lynn Vision's early set strategies, and though the Chinese team won their first gun round off the back of a Vent drop and B bombsite hit, a second attempt at a similar strategy went lopsided after Sodbayar "⁠Techno⁠" Munkhbold and Usukhbayar "⁠910⁠" Banzragch recovered a 2vs4.

The MongolZ 13-8 Lynn Vision

A 2-5 start on Ancient quickly became a distant memory for The MongolZ as Sodbayar "⁠Techno⁠" Munkhbold starred for his team in a solid recovery effort, consistently abusing Junjie "⁠EmiliaQAQ⁠" Tang on A at the end of the first half and carrying that momentum into the CT side.

The Mongolian team wasted no time in hitting double digits once on the defense by throttling Lynn Vision's defaults, and made up for two lost rounds by closing out the map with two flawless rounds to go up 1-0 in the series.

The MongolZ 6-6 Lynn Vision

It wasn't a pretty start for The MongolZ on their map pick as Lynn Vision won the pistol and were in control on the CT side early on, but the Mongolian team recovered toward the end of the half and have momentum on their side after Sodbayar "⁠Techno⁠" Munkhbold lived up to his former nickname with an incredible 4K.

Lynn Vision once had The MongolZ's number in Asia, beating them twice in August 2023 before the switch to Counter-Strike 2.

In Valve's new title, however, it's Garidmagnai "⁠bLitz⁠" Byambasuren's men who have reigned supreme, claiming victory over the Chinese team in ESL Challenger League Season 46 APAC to qualify for ESL Pro League in December, and then again just one month ago in the grand final of eXTREMESLAND 2023 to lift the trophy at the event in Shanghai, China.

The MongolZ had only narrowly claimed a win on their pick of Ancient in the latter series, but weren't dissuaded and have decided to pick the map again. Lynn Vision, on the other hand, have opted for a Nuke pick in this series rather than their previous pick of Anubis, where they had been outclassed by the Mongolian team 13-3.

The third and final day of the Asia RMR is nigh, and a battle between Lynn Vision and The MongolZ kicks off the action to determine which team will secure an early berth to PGL Major Copenhagen.

Both teams dominated their opposition in the upper bracket and have looked a cut above the competition the entire tournament, and as such will have two chances to qualify for the Major.

Whichever team doesn't succeed in the upper final will drop down to the consolidation final, where they will face the winner of Grayhound vs. ATOX for the second and final spot in Copenhagen on offer at the Asia RMR.
