BOSS upset MIBR; M80 edge out ODDIK in Americas RMR
MIBR are the first favorite to suffer a loss in Mexico.

BOSS and M80 are the next squads to earn opening victories at the Americas RMR after getting the better of MIBR and ODDIK in their respective matches.
The two winners join Complexity and FURIA in the 1-0 pool, while the losers are relegated to the 0-1 pool, which will be played in a best-of-three format.
On the A stream, MIBR met BOSS on Ancient. The Brazilian squad was on the back foot since the start of this game, and their CT side was put into even more disarray after Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue's 1v2 clutch, which enabled BOSS to take a 7-5 lead into the second half.
MIBR began their offense with a much-needed pistol round and converted their early success into a 9-9 scoreline. That was as good as it got for the Brazilians, however, as BOSS answered back with a five-round streak to win the map 13-9 and secure the first upset of the Americas RMR.

M80, who are attending the event with coach Rory "dephh" Jackson due to Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen missing out for personal reasons, started their game well. A plant in the pistol round gave them a good buy in the second, and they converted it to take an early 3-1 lead. ODDIK were the better team for the rest of the half but could only secure a 7-5 scoreline at the switch, as M80 were able to keep their economy very modest.
A hot start netted M80 a 9-7 lead early in the second half, but the match wasn't done yet. Gabriel "ponter" Amaral clutched a 1vs2 situation after dephh second-guessed his decision to stick the bomb defuse with under one second remaining, and that tied the score at 10. In the end, though, it was the duo of Michael "Swisher" Schmid and Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa took over the server and netted M80 a 13-10 victory.
