casle to attend Copenhagen Major with ECSTATIC after ban reduced by ESIC

The former Astralis coach helped ECSTATIC from home through their fairytale RMR run.

casle was banned in 2020 for five Major cycles

Peter "casle" Ardenskjold has successfully appealed against his ESIC ban and is now free to attend PGL Major Copenhagen.

The former Astralis skipper was among a host of coaches banned in 2020 due to exploitation of a coaching bug, and was initially banned for five Majors. Having missed the last four, he has now had his demerit point count adjusted thanks to ESIC accepting an appeal that was "out of the typical timeframe" and an independent Appeal Chair ruling in his favor.

Recently, casle has been assisting ECSTATIC with analyst work and was in the server with them as coach for the second IEM Dallas European open qualifier.

The organization's co-owner, Thomas Sinding, then confirmed on the March 12 GLHF podcast that casle had been unbanned and would attend the Major with ECSTATIC.

"Whether it will become permanent, time will tell," casle told Dust2.dk in February. "They are a team where the heart would be in the right place. I also think they have huge potential."

ECSTATIC were the only full-five man Danish lineup to qualify for their home Major after Astralis and Preasy missed out, but are among the most inexperienced teams at the event with five debutants.

ECSTATIC are:

Denmark Magnus "Nodios" Olsen
Denmark Patrick "Patti" Larsen
Denmark Jonas "Queenix" Dideriksen
Denmark Tobias "kraghen" Kragh Jensen
Denmark Jason "salazar" Salazar

Denmark Peter "casle" Ardenskjold (coach)

So originally he would have been unbanned after the Copenhagen major instead of before it?

It just says ‘coaching bug’, that’s very vague so there’s no need to be so rude. Now you look stupid and an a-hole

It also says "banned in 2020 due to exploitation of a coaching bug". Clearly stated what he was banned for and it takes 1 google search if they needed more information on what the coach bug was. It provides a lot more information than what someone here would anyways.

His point is, and was made twice but still not understood, is that 'coaching bug' only makes sense to people who know what that is.

Agree. Recent decisions are taken based on feelings rather than statistics. It is a repeat of the poor decision with magisk/Dupreeh replacement - their top players at that time - and prologed contract for xyp9x. They should have kept castle and blamef and give them time to build a stratbook and practice hard instead of PR events and consistent staff changes.

agree about clown management, however they needed to let Casle go for the RMRs i assume, because he couldn't be part of the copenhagen major at that time.

ESIC issued these bans and whilst most TOs followed, it's always been skeptical just how much power ESIC actually has to enforce their decisions Several coaches appealed their bans, most notably HUNDEN who took legal action, and at least from the outside, it looked like ESIC just folded under that pressure, showing that their power is basically non-existent People are thus complaining because it looks like ESIC just backs down and lets cheaters pressure their way back into the scene

"Having missed the last four, he has now had his demerit point count adjusted thanks to ESIC accepting an appeal that was "out of the typical timeframe" and an independent Appeal Chair ruling in his favor." Let me get this straight, one singular guy that isnt even part of ESIC decided to unban him just because he appealed really late? Joke of a regulatory body.
