Brollan on his future: "This Major affects it a lot"
Brollan has turned heads with a jump in performance after leaving NIP for MOUZ on loan.

MOUZ survived a scare in their Major opener, going down 0-6 on CT side Overpass before climbing back to a 13-11 win. Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin, still on loan from Ninjas in Pyjamas, was key in the recovery with 98 ADR and some crucial multi-frags down the stretch.
MOUZ come into the tournament as the joint-youngest team, and have been on a hot streak with two top-four finishes and a 3-0 record at the RMR since Brollan's arrival.
"We are really prepared to win this Major," Brollan tells HLTV. "Everyone wants to win, but it's really nice to be a dark horse. I think we're expected to go to playoffs but I think we can do more damage than that"
Tough start, but win's what matters, right?
We had a pretty poor start, I think we whiffed some rounds individually. They had a good game plan, they had a good warmup coming from the Opening Stage, they played really well compared to the last time we played them in the RMR.
How hard is it coming in halfway through a tournament? Everyone knows about the 'Challengers buff,' but how hard is it when you're actually there?
They're just used to, not the setup, but the environment and everything. It's a Major, you know what's going on around everything. Now I would say maybe this doesn't feel like a Major in my opinion, because the stickers came late and these things. But, as I said, they have been playing more, the environment and these things.
But we had a really good boot camp coming into the tournament, so we had a 'ish' warm-up as well. The environment is just a positive thing, but obviously, it's nice to go straight to Elimination as well, for practice.
What made the difference when you were down 6-0, clutches going against you. How did you adapt? There's so little time in MR12 to make those adaptations.
As I said before, at the beginning of the game we were choking it individually. We made the right plan, but couldn't hit our shots. We had the right reads and everything was going as planned, but we didn't hit our shots. Then you saw, in the timeouts, we said to keep playing how we are, and I think it went really well at the end of the half when we started to hit some shots and the economy went our way. We just told ourselves to be more ready for what they're doing, their game plan was to poke more towards A, it's just that.
Individually as well, bit of a slow start but you end with 100 ADR and that double kill near Monster. What did it feel like from an individual perspective?
It felt good that I came back, but yeah just a slow start for me individually as well. If I could be more individually prepared, and mentally prepared, it was just a little bit shaky in the first rounds. Maybe it wouldn't have been this close, but I'm really happy I stepped up. The clutches were super intense in this game with so many 1v1s but finally, I got the most important one.
You're still on loan but it's going really well. Can you say anything about your future, and if this Major affects it?
This Major affects it a lot, with the performance. We have two top-four placements in two events now, 3-0 at the RMR, it's going very well from that. But now the Major, everyone wants to prove everything, it's the main opportunity to prove to myself and to the team that we can actually be a top team. From that, I don't know what my future is, I'm still on loan, but I'll see in the future what's going on.
How big a confidence boost was that 3-0? First team to beat Spirit's full lineup.
A big one. We played a really good game in that RMR, but obviously, it's way more fun when you're the only team to have beaten Spirit. They had a really good run so far with the team, it's really fun to beat them, you have a lot of confidence going into the Major now. They might be scared of you in some way because if we play them in the future they know we have beaten them 2-0.
MOUZ are in that perfect sweet spot, not in the big three but fourth or fifth, in the realm of being the type of dark horse that can really make a run at the Major. Do you feel the same?
We are really prepared to win this Major. Obviously, everyone wants to win, and everyone says 'we're going to win' but I think, as you said, it's really nice to be a dark horse. You're not the favorites, you're not the team that's expected to go out first, I think we're expected to go to playoffs but I think we can do more damage than that. We had a really good boot camp before the Major, we just need to show it in officials as well.
One final question on Xyp9x joining, he's won a few Majors, is that helpful?
Yeah, he's one of the five, right? It's really nice to have a guy with a lot of experience, that has so much trust that you can rely on. Obviously, I trust everyone in my team of course but he's one of the five in that Astralis team. He has won so many things, and it's really nice to have a guy in the team who can tell us how to handle pressure, deal with tight games. I've been playing for a long time but it's another thing to have a guy like Xyp9x to come into the team and help with that.
