The international team started brightly but faded as the series went on.
Cloud9 have locked up a spot in the Royal Arena for the PGL Major Copenhagen playoffs after a 2-1 victory over Natus Vincere in a 2-1 pool match.
The international team drew first blood in the series with an overtime win on Mirage, but they faltered after the first map. Cloud9 responded with a convincing victory on Ancient before completing the demolition job on Overpass, a game that almost became a 13-0 thrashing.
Having watched his team beat ECSTATIC, G2 and Natus Vincere en route to the playoffs, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov feels vindicated. "A lot of analysts and the community were talking shit about us," he said after the match. "Sorry, guys, we're in the playoffs. See you there."

The series kicked off on Mirage, Natus Vincere's map pick, with the international team picking up a 7-5 lead after a back-and-forth half thanks to a strong T showing by Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov, who posted a 14-5 score.
Cloud9 came out strongly after the break, poking holes in the NAVI defense with an all-around effort as everyone was contributing with frags. They eventually hit map point at 12-10, only to be stopped in their tracks by w0nderful, who pulled off back-to-back triple kills to send the game to overtime.
The Ukrainian AWPer maintained that momentum in the extra rounds, racking up nine more frags as NAVI secured the victory, with Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen also raising eyebrows with a vital 1v2 clutch.
The series headed to Ancient, where Natus Vincere responded to an early deficit with a three-round streak that began with a Justinas "jL" Lekavicius clutch. But their respite wouldn't last: Cloud9 took control of the game with effective A pushes and ended the half up by four. NAVI still attempted a response after the side switched, but they could only muster two rounds as Cloud9 locked down the map after a 5-0 run.
Aleksib didn't know it in the veto, but his team would be put in a world of pain on Overpass, a map where they never had a chance. The first half was a complete one-way street as Cloud9 ran all over a porous NAVI defense, with Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy's clutch in the tenth round the only thing that stood in the way of a 12-0 rout.
NAVI tried to fight back after losing the ensuing pistol, but they merely delayed the inevitable as Cloud9 quickly put the game, and the series, to bed.
