FaZe cruise past Complexity to earn playoff berth
FaZe have battled through shaky form to make the playoffs, whilst Complexity collapsed after starting the Elimination Stage 2-0.

FaZe have ensured the top-ranked team in the world will be present in the Royal Arena by strolling past Complexity 2-0, claiming wins on Nuke (13-6) and Overpass (13-6).
Complexity began the Elimination Stage in fine fashion, racing out to a 2-0 record whilst displaying admirable resilience in an overtime win over HEROIC. That resilience abandoned them in series play however, as the North Americans slipped to meek defeats against MOUZ and FaZe where they could easily have made things closer and couldn't get past a Vitality well short of their best.
Their fragile mentality has always been Complexity's biggest problem, and that fact reared its ugly head once again during this Major campaign. Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski was carrying hard in their opening games only to disappear in their losses, the team couldn't find a way to clinch the key swing rounds that would have changed their fortunes, and the entire squad waned against MOUZ and FaZe as the pressure mounted.
FaZe meanwhile have managed to muddle their way through an Elimination Stage campaign during which they were short of their best. Even in their previous win against Imperial FaZe were wobbly and Finn "karrigan" Andersen was not thrilled with their level, but today against Complexity they were back to something like their best.
Helvijs "broky" Saukants and David "frozen" Čerňanský stepped up in a big way to ensure the fragging was taken care of, whilst karrigan had the read on Complexity throughout the entire series. There is still work to be done if they are to seriously challenge for the Major title, but FaZe are heading in the right direction.
Nuke served as FaZe's pick in the series, and their offensive half proved why they are confident in the map. frozen started in red-hot form as FaZe raced out to a 7-5 lead, and although Complexity mounted a late-half comeback, it was merely cosmetic. FaZe won a force-buy to redeem a lost second-half pistol, and comfortably strolled to a 13-6 victory.
Overpass was so very similar to the Overpass Complexity played against MOUZ. The NA squad were losing rounds in the first half that were close and could have gone either way, and seemed to crumble after they couldn't get any of them on the board. It didn't help that karrigan was calling a clean game, and FaZe duly cleaned up a 13-6 victory to claim a playoff berth.
