jottAAA joins Sangal
The Amsterdam-based organization is now up to four players.
Sangal have announced the signing of Samet "jottAAA" Köklü amid a roster restructuring that also includes parting ways with Pere "sausol" Solsona Saumell and Ilya "Ganginho" Chernychenko.
The changes come after a rough patch of form for the team that has failed to break into the top 60 of the world rankings following a slow start to the year. Sangal couldn't progress through the open RMR qualifiers and failed to make a deep run at any of the online tournaments they attended, with a 5-6th placing at European Pro League Season 13 being their biggest success in 2024.
jottAAA has played 57 maps on HLTV under the Eternal Fire Academy banner and averaged a 1.00 rating, but still earned high praise from Özgür "woxic" Eker during an interview conducted by HLTV at Eternal Fire's bootcamp late in 2023.
"He is playing in FPL, and also he's one of our academy players. I think he can be like Wicadia. But I don't know, you have to play with him to see his potential. By just watching from the outside and not listening to how he's using his communication skills and his brain, we don't know. But from the outside, I think he's a talented player," the AWPer said about the 21-year-old.
After jottAAA's signing, Sangal have one more roster opening left to fill before their next outing in the ESL Challenger League, where the European combine currently sits on a 2-1 record after wins against TSM and 9INE.
Sangal are now:
Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç
Linus "LNZ" Holtäng
Simon "yxngstxr" Boije
Samet "jottAAA" Köklü
Jimmy "Jumpy" Berndtsson (coach)
Ilya 'Ganginho' Chernychenko
Pere 'sausol' Solsona Saumell

Valdemar 'valde' Bjørn Vangså
Valentin 'poizon' Vasilev
Simon 'KWERTZZ' Horák
