e-Stars won't collide with GameGune

When GameGune yesterday announced their 2010 event, the community was quick to stress that the event would be colliding with e-Stars Seoul once again – But we bring you good news, it won't!

For the past two years, GameGune and e-Stars Seoul took place on the exact same weekends, disallowing teams invited to e-Stars Seoul to attend the Spanish event GameGune. This also made the level of teams competing drop to a lower level than the early years of GameGune, also seeing a lot of late drop out.

2010 will however allow teams attending e-Stars Seoul to attend GameGune also. Contacted by HLTV.org, e-Stars Seoul officials confirmed that the South Korean event will not be held on the same dates as GameGune (22-24 July) and furthermore stated that there will be news regarding e-Stars Seoul very soon.

This brings some joy to the community, who for the last two years saw teams split between the two events. This year we can expect a very high-level of teams attending GameGune, as nobody will be bound for Seoul. You can expect HLTV.org to be at both events, bringing you all of the action as we always do.

actually a bad news, its always interesting to see normal teams battle it out in GameGune instead of the same SK fnatic mTw, other teams need some spotlight and some money too

You can see that during most of the qualifiers can't you? On the other hand the top teams often don't have to go through these, so there's a lot less matches to see them playing.

Well, true. But if these teams don't play with the best they wil not be on the same level. This is how you get better by competing with the best.

I partially agree. It's nice to see a team like Lepdc reaching top3, on the other hand it's also nice to have a top level tournament in Spain. Nah it's good news anyway.
