AMD returns in new x6tence deal
x6tence e-Sports Club have signed a partnership deal with semiconductors company Advanced Micro Devices.
AMD decided to pull off the plug on its sponsorship deal with x6tence in March 2009 as a result of the economic downturn, which made the American-based company put an end to all major esports sponsorships, including the one with the World Cyber Games.
x6tence have announced on their website that AMD has once again decided to support them, this time as a partner, which could mean that AMD plans to slowly find its way back into esports.
Meanwhile, the Spanish giants, who have qualified for the EPS VI Lan Finals at the end of the month, have announced Cooler Master as their new main sponsor.
"Videogames and players are two of the aspects we have been aware of at Cooler Master," Daniel Lorenzo of Cooler Master told x6tence's website. "For that, we constantly work to develop specific products for Cooler Master, like the CM Storm brand, to expand the possibilities of consumers, and we support esports all over the world with the sponsorship of competitions like KODE5, among others.
"Spain could not be outside our sphere and x6tence are the best platform to start a long-lasting project with, thanks to the work and the effort in developing esports for years."
x6tence seem to be finally getting back on track after months of uncertainty, marked by the loss of AMD as a sponsor and constant changes to their Counter-Strike team.
