MIBR eliminate Aurora with ease in Serbia

The Brazilians made relatively short work of their Russian counterparts, albeit with a slight wobble in the final half of play.

MIBR have eased past Aurora 2-0 to stay alive at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, getting the job done with wins on Anubis (13-5) and Nuke (13-10).

With their victory MIBR have earned themselves a matchup against HEROIC, where a playoff berth will be on the line.

This matchup was billed as a clash between two in-form squads, as both have been tearing up regional and tier-two online competitions in recent times. They also contested the recent ESL Challenger Melbourne LAN final, which MIBR took in comfortable 2-0 fashion.

Today MIBR had an even easier time of things, completely outclassing Aurora across the first three halves of play to put themselves on the brink of victory.

The second-half of Nuke was more hotly-contested, partly because MIBR played a little too aggressive on their CT side trying to close the map quickly, but Raphael "⁠exit⁠" Lacerda stood tall and grabbed some key multi-kills to close the series out and keep his team alive in Belgrade.

Aurora will need to gather themselves quickly after elimination as their form has taken a worrying dip in the last month. After winning multiple online competitions and taking second at ESL Challenger Melbourne over the early months of the year, the Russian side are now on a four-series losing streak.
