Eternal Fire and Aurora through to CCT Global Finals playoffs

SAW and PARIVISION leave the $500,000 event without a penny as Group A concludes.

Wicadia topped the Group A charts with a 1.53 rating in 4 maps

Eternal Fire and Aurora are the first two teams through to the playoffs in the CCT Global Finals, a $500,000 online tournament taking place this week. They will next play in the playoffs from Tuesday.

The two teams traversed the first of four groups to make it to the single-elimination bracket stage and left SAW and PARIVISION eliminated in third and fourth place of Group A, respectively.

The Turkish side entered the group as clear-cut favorites and confirmed their stature without too much of a hitch outside of a 4-9 start on the opening map of the winners' match against SAW.

Ali "⁠Wicadia⁠" Haydar Yalçın dominated the competition, which also included PARIVISION in the opener, and finished the group as by far the highest-rated player at 1.53 and topped several other leaderboads.

Aurora played the group simultaneously with their short-lived appearance at BetBoom Dacha and entered the event with a loss to SAW. But they came back to beat PARIVISION and took revenge on the Portuguese side on the exact same three maps they had played first, with an improved Nuke defense and an overtime on the deciding Ancient making the difference.

Group B is next on the calendar at the tournament, kicking off with Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer's debut in fnatic's colors.

The new-look squad goes up against the struggling ENCE in the first match of the group, which will be followed by another tough-to-call affair between Gaimin Gladiators and GamerLegion.
