The Brazilians entered this series looking for revenge after losing to HEROIC in the opening round, and they drew first blood with a blowout victory on Vertigo. However, they flamed out too fast as HEROIC responded in kind on Ancient before completing the reverse sweep in an entertaining Dust2 game with plenty of highlights.
After picking Anubis in Wednesday's series, MIBR went with Vertigo this time around, a decision that paid off brilliantly for the Brazilians, who dominated the map. HEROIC still put up some resistance in the early stages, but the landscape of the game changed once Felipe "insani" Yuji got into his groove.
It all started with back-to-back multi-kill rounds from the 20-year-old that left HEROIC's economy in shambles. The European team looked in disarray throughout the rest of the game, with insani capping off a fantastic display with an ace in the final round.
HEROIC came out on Ancient looking like a different team. They stormed to a 10-2 lead on the T side, with Rafael "saffee" Costa being the only player who looked sharp for MIBR in the first half.
After the side switch, MIBR still attempted a response, but their comeback hopes were quickly dashed as HEROIC retook control of the game once they had money to work with.
HEROIC maintained their momentum and jumped out to a dominant 6-1 lead on the CT side of Dust2 by dealing with their opponents' slow pace of play. With the game threatening to get away from them, MIBR upped the intensity and managed to catch their opponents off-guard several times to bring the deficit down to two by half-time.
The second half began with MIBR winning a messy pistol round after bouncing back from a two-man disadvantage, only to lose the follow-up as Rasmus "sjuush" Beck clutched a 1v2 situation on A with a Galil. HEROIC took command after that and never let go, a sensational quad kill from André "drop" Abreu in the 18th round only delaying the inevitable as MIBR crashed to a sound defeat.
