TheMongolz will face Gaimin Gladiators in the first round

MESA has announced the full schedule and the first-round matchups for the upcoming Nomadic Masters Spring tournament in Ulaanbaatar. Scheduled for May 28-June 2, the Mongolian event will feature eight teams from Europe and Asia competing for a prize pool of $100,000.

The tournament will use a double-elimination bracket that will culminate in a best-of-five grand final. The first three days will take place in a studio environment, with the tournament moving to the Steppe Arena once the field has been whittled down to the final six teams.

The opening round features four inter-regional clashes, including a match between the highest-ranked teams in attendance, The MongolZ and Gaimin Gladiators.

In a statement, MESA explained that the initial match-ups "were not based on a specific ranking system" but were designed to promote competition between the two regions.

"This ensures that each region faces fresh competition and avoids the regional clashes often seen in other events," MESA said. "Each Asian team will compete against a European team, aiming to provide an engaging start to the tournament. We believe this approach will enhance the experience for all teams and fans alike."

they probably matched them like that so the asian teams have the highest chance of winning but this could turn into 4 EU teams advancing

Yo le noob, You got it totally wrong, since the Asian teams (bat Mongolz) are underdogs , if MESA wanted to favor the Asians they would make them play each other in the first round so at least one of them makes it through. They chose the most interesting format and the one that will probably be the toughest for the mongol teams but will make them gain the most experience.

it's literally what I said as well, this format takes a big risk of having zero Asian teams advancing they could have given the best asian team (mongolz) a much easier team than gaimin, but they know only mongolz has a chance against them
