Liquid and Eternal Fire to face off for CCT title

One of the two teams will come away with their first international tournament win in 2024.

The CCT Global Finals has reached its culmination with Liquid and Eternal Fire set to face off for the title after winning their semi-final affairs.

The title decider will be played in a best-of-five on Thursday at 15:30 and will award the winner the $250,000 grand prize, while the runners-up will be going away with $100,000.

Liquid were the first to reach the grand final with a 2-1 victory over Astralis, which would not have been possible without a massive Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken performance on the opening map.

The 'Magician' scored a 40-bomb in the double-overtime affair on Inferno and several crucial plays, including an ace that prevented the Danes from reaching map point in regulation.

His and his Canadian compatriot Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic's efforts were then not enough on Nuke up against a team-wide effort from Astralis, but Dust2 was all under Liquid's control as they came away with a 13-3 victory on the newest map to come into the pool.

The second semi-final went much more smoothly for the Turkish side, who once again had Ismailcan "⁠XANTARES⁠" Dörtkardeş and Ali "⁠Wicadia⁠" Haydar Yalçın firing on all cylinders to pick up a 2-0 win up against an in-form GamerLegion side.

The Turkish duo now sit just behind Twistzz in the tournament charts heading into the grand final after a dominant display, which has so far seen them lose just one map in four matches.
