HEROIC exploit M80's mistakes to progress in Dallas

The European side took advantage of a number of fumbles by M80 against bad buys.

HEROIC have eliminated M80 from contention at IEM Dallas thanks to a 2-0 victory, the European squad grabbing wins on Ancient (13-9) and Mirage (13-8).

With their victory HEROIC have the chance to continue their IEM Dallas campaign against Natus Vincere in the lower bracket semi-final.

M80 have built up a solid resume regionally to put themselves in the conversation for best NA-based team, and their performance in their last LAN outing at ESL Pro League was promising, featuring a win over G2.

None of the aforementioned promise manifested during their IEM Dallas run, a limp performance against FaZe giving way to a mistake-riddled two-map loss to HEROIC. Mario "⁠malbsMd⁠" Samayoa was also not at his imperious best in Dallas, which left M80 lacking a tad for firepower.

HEROIC meanwhile looked surprisingly potent with Nico "⁠nicoodoz⁠" Tamjidi back amongst the fold as a stand-in for Abdul "⁠degster⁠" Gasanov. They seem to have shaken off their poor opening map against Virtus.pro and started strong on both maps, although they were the fortunate beneficiaries of repeated poor play in anti-eco situations by M80.

René "⁠TeSeS⁠" Madsen was a massive boon for HEROIC, he monstered M80 on Ancient and was also a powerful force on Mirage, but the entire team had their moments throughout the series.
