Falcons and Aurora will clash in an opening match in Group A.

Can Falcons finish the season with a title run after a dismal first six months?

ESL has announced the groups and seeds — and thus, the opening matchups — for ESL Challenger Jönköping, slated to run from June 14-16 with $100,000 and a spot in ESL Pro League Season 20 on offer.

The tournament features four top-20 teams and is headlined by the ESL Ranking invites of Complexity and Falcons, who were given the first and third seeds, respectively, and will compete in opposing groups.

The MongolZ earned the second seed and join Falcons in Group A alongside Aurora and Party Astronauts, while MIBR, ENCE, and Alliance join Complexity in Group B.

The most tantalizing matchup of the opening round pits Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's Falcons against Aurora, with the former showing much better recent form at IEM Dallas and BetBoom Dacha Belgrade after a woeful period of results, and the latter looking to do one better after finishing as runners-up to MIBR at ESL Challenger Melbourne in April.

The mid-seed opening matchup of Group B will also be one to keep an eye on as ENCE will play their second LAN with their new players, straight from YaLLa Compass, with MIBR being no pushovers as they look to claim consecutive Challenger titles.
