NIP and The MongolZ secure YaLLa Compass playoff berths

Ninjas in Pyjamas and The MongolZ have been the talk of the town in YaLLa Compass' Group A as the two teams won their first three maps and remain undefeated ahead of their head-to-head match.

Now, their spots in the playoffs have been confirmed after HEROIC defeated Sashi 13-6. There can no longer be two more teams with three or more wins because Sashi is on 1-3 and Astralis play ENCE, so one of them will have a third loss, too.

Ninjas in Pyjamas come with their full roster for the first time since bringing on Artem "⁠r1nkle⁠" Moroz and, most recently, Isak "⁠isak⁠" Fahlén. Online losses to Metizport and Sangal were no indication of their showing in Abu Dhabi, where they beat ENCE, HEROIC and Astralis.

Furthermore, Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström's men beat Astralis on Ancient, a map in which the Danes sported a 6-0 record in the past three months with three victories against FaZe.

Whether they will be able to mimic more demanding best-of-three series remains to be seen, but their initial showing on LAN so far could not have been better.

The MongolZ are less of a surprise, as they come in hot from winning MESA Nomadic Masters, where they beat Gaimin Gladiators, Aurora and BLEED on the way to the trophy.

Ninjas in Pyjamas and The MongolZ will fight to top the group and secure a spot past the quarter-finals and straight into the top four, as they go head-to-head at 16:00 .

One more playoff spot is up for grabs with ENCE, Astralis, and HEROIC still in the running. Sashi are the first team to bow out despite an upset victory in the Danish derby with Astralis on the first day of play, which has so far been their only win.

Nicolai "⁠HUNDEN⁠" Petersen's men can reach several multi-way ties, but they either lose them straight up on head-to-head, or on round difference in three-way ties with Astralis and ENCE or HEROIC.
