KOI qualify for ESL Pro League Season 20

The Iberian squad have marched imperiously through ESL Challenger League S47 thus far.

dav1g's side dispelled poor form in other competitions to thrive in ESL Challenger League

KOI have secured a spot in ESL Pro League Season 20 thanks to winning the upper bracket of ESL Challenger League Season 47. The Iberian side still have the grand final ahead of them, but as there are two Pro League spots up for grabs in the event, they have already secured the most important prize.

Since their surprise appearance at PGL Major Copenhagen, KOI have struggled for form in online competition, failing qualifiers for BetBoom Dacha, Esports World Cup and BLAST Fall Showdown, and making little headway in two CCT events.

Alejandro "⁠mopoz⁠" Fernández-Quejo Cano and company managed to cast off their poor form for ESL Challenger League, topping their group with a 4-1 record before winning four straight series with a 2-0 score line, sealing a grand final berth and their ESL Pro League spot.

Their most impressive wins came over Aurora and 3DMAX, both accomplished tier two sides who sit just outside the top 30 in the world ranking.

KOI have spread the fragging around during the ESL Challenger League campaign, as whilst Adam "⁠adamS⁠" Marian is their highest-rated player overall, Renato "⁠stadodo⁠" Gonçalves, mopoz and David "⁠dav1g⁠" Granado Bermudo all topped the scoreboard in a series each during their playoff run so far.

KOI still have another match ahead of them if they wish to seal the ESL Challenger League title, which will be played against either Sangal, Aurora or SINNERS, depending on who wins the lower bracket.

Sunpayus knows hes better than koi and hes always wanted to be playing in big teams and competing in as many big tournaments as possible. He was lucky with ence at first but got fucked by falcons shenanigans. However hes now finished his engineering degree and has more time to further improve so I hope he manages to flee falcons/improve the team by turning into the starplayer they need

Bro Martinez had only 1 good game that edition and Sunpayus isn't known by his firepower (average kpr) Their winning factor is their chemistry and team play.

and Martinez and SunPayus were a major part of that. They were the main stars, and were the main attraction of the team. Especially SunPayus. It was a massive loss for the team when he got acquired by ENCE as much of the impact provided for the team was from him, but they managed to rebound cause they basically found a semi-clone of him in Martinez.

How on earth you call Martinez a "semi-clone" of sunpayus? They are completely opposite. You are comparing an extremely passive an intelligent awper with one super aggressive and impulse. Martinez wasn't the star player of that team, Mopoz was. (I'm fact he currently is aswell even tho adamS plays the best roles)

Martinez had a lot of impact but as #26 pointed, his playstyle is the opposite. The great lose with SunPayus wasn't just that he was really good on CT side, is that he used to call a lot midround, thing that martinez didn't make because of his lack of experience. Right now they lack firepower, that's true, but if Adams can find good form, they could make a good run, even if Stadodo is not doing great impact (he's improving lately). The team has good chemistry and vibes that helps to supply that lack of firepower, which is great (knowing it's not a team build to win a major, you know)
