WCG 2010 Norwegian national finals

World Cyber Games have along with Peliliiga announced a qualifier which will be held at The Gathering this easter.

The Gathering is the world's second largest LAN event, held each easter in Hamar, Norway. The massive event with over 5.000 gamers will kick off on the 31st of March, lasting till the 4th of April.

WCG has teamed up with Peliliiga and together will they be organizing the national finals at The Gathering. The winning team will be given a spot for the World Cyber Games Nordic Championship later this year. Hence the name, there is reason to believe that similar playoffs for the Nordic Championship will be held in more Nordic countries, although none have been announced up to this date.

On another note, the winners of the Tekken 6 and TrackMania Nations Forever tournaments will be given a direct entry into the WCG Grand Finals taking place in Los Angeles, California between the 29th of September to the 3rd of October.

This is awkard. Norway has none proffesional Tekken 6 players, but hey, ditch Counter-Strike, its a tradition for WCG Nordic. Good luck Bergie, I hope you win this year!

Actually they have a qualifier for Counter-Strike 1.6. The best norwegian team will be granted access to a Nordic qualifier later this year. Apparently, the WCG thinks that the Norwegian scene doesn`t deserve a direct qualifier for WCG. That is a pitty in my opinion, because Norway got some really talented and dedicated teams, that has grown lately.

This is really bad from WCG. They lump the nordic countries, the region with the most CS talent in the world, together to save money and let lesser CS nations have direct qualifiers. WCG go to hell if you ask me. I don't understand why this fact hasn't got more attention.
