EPS Germany 16 week 5 stats recap

One third of the season is now behind us, at least week-wise, since 5 out of the 15 scheduled weeks of the regular season have passed and the map-cycle has been completed. Although, not all of the scheduled matches have been played, with 4 of them wildcarded this week.

Story of the week has to be the big German classic between mousesports and Alternate that was played in Oberhausen as part of the second IFNG of the season. Mousesports took the win 16-9 after a match filled with computer problems for both teams. Alternate played another match earlier in the week, against You Don't Know Me, which they won rather easily 16-1, so it seemed they were well prepared for the clash on Friday. But, after a close first half, mousesports didn't give them a chance in the second. Team Alternate has already surpassed their last season's number of losses, as they now have 2, while last season they only had 1 (against mouz). The other team that defeated them this season, TBH, seems to be mouz's biggest competitor so far for the number 1 spot on the table, as they also won their 5th match in a row, this time versus mTw, 16-3. Another team that is flying high at the moment is Alternative, who now have 4 wins out of 5 after they defeated mystical Lambda 16-11. And finally, ESC defeated Tera 16-9 to get their 3rd win of the season, while four of the other matches have been postponed. You can check out what the table looks like at the moment here.

Although only half of the matches scheduled on de_train were actually played this week, it was enough to confirm how CT-sided it is, with 60%-40% in favor of the CTs.

Although without many matches to choose from, we did have some stand-out performances this week. The best one came from Manuel "approx" Zeitz when his team, Alternate, beat ydk.me 16-1 on de_tuscan, in part thanks to his great T-side 20-4, with 15 of his 22 total kills being headshots. Second best performance was seen from TBH's Paul "pwl" Woltschenko when he completely stopped mTw with the AWP (17 of his 20 kills with it), as they only managed to kill him twice in the first half, which happened to be in the only 2 rounds they won as Terrorists. Third best was mouz's Antonio "cyx" Daniloski in their match against Alternate, as he was really on fire with the AWP during the first half when they got their crucial 8 rounds as Ts, and he also delivered in the second half. Completing the top 5 are another two players from TBH, Gerhard "gerdi" Grimm, in his season-debut (he subbed for Christian "crisby" Schmitt in this match), and the veteran David "CHEF-KOCH" Nagel, as they also enjoyed good form against mTw.

Top team performance of the week belongs to TBH, which is also the overall second best performance of the season, with rating 1.56 in their 16-3 win over mTw (they also hold the best performance with rating of 1.62 in week 1 against hoorai). Close second is Alternate with their 16-1 win over ydk.me, and then not so close at third place, ESC, defeating Tera 16-9.
