ESWC confirms 28 qualifiers

The Electronic Sports World Cup has announced it has already secured national qualifiers in 28 different countries.

According to the ESWC's official newsletter, it has already found what it calls National Strategic Partners (NSP) to organise qualifiers in 28 countries.

From the ESWC's country list, there are still 14 nations listed for which the French-based organisation has found no NSP of yet, with Sweden, Germany and Spain among those names.

Below you can find the 28 countries the ESWC has already found an NSP for, though in most cases dates and location are still unknown:

Algeria Algeria
Argentina Argentina
Brazil Brazil - May 30
Other Cameroon
Other Caribbean
Colombia Colombia - April 9
China China
Croatia Croatia
France France - May 22
Other Ghana
Greece Greece
India India - May 14
Indonesia Indonesia
Other Iran - April 20
Other Kuwait
Malaysia Malaysia
Mexico Mexico
Other Nigeria
Peru Peru - May 28
Poland Poland
Portugal Portugal
Romania Romania - May 29
Russia Russia
Slovenia Slovenia
Tunisia Tunisia
Ukraine Ukraine
United Arab Emirates United Arab Emirates
United Kingdom United Kingdom

Companies willing to become NSPs can express their interest by sending an email to the ESWC.

The 2010 ESWC World Finals will take place from June 30 through to July 4 at Disneyland Park in Paris, with $73,500 to be handed out in the male Counter-Strike tournament alone.

Meanwhile, the ESWC has announced it has tied up sponsorship deals with betting company Betclic, French cinema company Allocine and PriceMinister, a famous commerce website.

whell the baltics have more country's on the list. We only habe one good team, 5 or 6 Medium teams, for our level. And we did good in some events, Gungame spain, the Dreamhack so we don't play that bad to.

GunGame in Spain was full of "B" teams - only two (mouz & Neo a spol.) top teams were present (and placed first and second). So I'd rather not present this achievement...

i dont understand what the point is of arranging quals in poor countries such as ghana and nigeria. i mean, how many esport-teams do even exist in those countries? barely any and those who exist should be reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally far from the top level. but yeah, fun experience for the small esport-nations i guess.

ESWC should focus in main countries like EEUU, England, Spain , Germany , France, Sweden, etc... instead of wasting time making qualifiers in countries where competition dont exist. Anyways, its all about business.

I didn't realise that there were so much people who only read the headlines of the news. Then they come with pathetic questions.

If we work together, we can send emails to find national organizers in all countries, ESWC should do this too, or they will dead like the old ESWC (remember ESWC San Jose) or last WCG (samsung dont help anymore to the countries). The help to the national qualifiers is the most important thing in this events.

why not in baltics :S? im gonna qq now. Algeria - what? Argentina - i guess you should have more than one latin american country present.. Brazil - May 30 -ok logical i guess .. Cameroon - yes i belive they just got internet in a lan cafe wich was paid by war spoils from their dictator?oh comon... Caribbean - ok wtf. Colombia - April 9 - they got drugs why do they need cs? China - they rarely venture outside of china coz of visa. Croatia - it has almost nonexistant cs sence.. France - May 22 - logical. Ghana - wasnt this the country where the average age was 18? .. Greece - fine their kinda bad but their atleast better than the african teams .. India - May 14 - it does have billion ppl but their cs sucks kinda Indonesia - ok... Iran - April 20 - i guess i could see a point in representing middle east :X? Kuwait - honestly idk where that is? Malaysia - if titans is from there i dont have a problem with them tbh. Mexico - kind of pointless but they wont get past group stage . Nigeria - do they have internet? Peru - May 28 - pointless again Poland - no wonder. Portugal - logical still Romania - May 29 Russia - they should have more than one spot. Slovenia - dont know any teams from there.. Tunisia - wth? Ukraine - they should have more than one spot United Arab Emirates - wth? United Kingdom - they been bad for a year or two now since dignitas kind of fell apart oh and nsp is sponsor or something who will pay for the trip :X?coz this list is missing EVERY MAJOR cs country beside poland/rus and ua.. and tbh they aint the top ones currently anyway..

Did you just hear of ESWC or are you simply stupid? It's ELECTRONIC SPORTS WORLD CUP not European Only and plus if you read the news you would notice that there are still 14 slots left

ESWC last edition winners got invite directly right? And who will get ticket? players or organisation? Last time it was PGS who hold the ticket and gave it to MYM (now FX) players, what about now?

From the ESWC's country list, there are still 14 nations listed for which the French-based organisation has found no NSP of yet, with Sweden, Germany and Spain among those names How I understand Germany,Spain,Nordic countries(Sweden,Finland,Norway,Denmark) will be in ESWC 2010 dont cry ;D
