OG, KOI, and BLEED miss out as EU RMR qualifiers reach end

The full 32-team list for the Perfect World Shanghai Major Europe RMRs is now complete.

KOI are among the favorites missing out on the RMR

The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 EU RMR Closed Qualifiers have come to an end following the conclusion of the do-or-die 2-2 pool matches, with Sashi, Rebels, B8, TSM, GamerLegion, and Nemiga securing the final available spots.

This means that all 32 teams set to compete at the Europe RMR in Shanghai are now known, with the participants set to be split into two 16-team Swiss groups at a later date.

The Closed Qualifier A 2-2 pool saw three high-octane bouts between teams expected to make it to the RMR before the event. B8 were the first to qualify after a 13-1 demolition of Monte on Mirage, while TSM followed shortly after with their win over KOI.

The final match was a clash between Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović's BLEED and GamerLegion, and the Erik "ztr" Gustafsson-led team came out on top after a spirited 3-12 comeback on Mirage. The failure to qualify is a tough pill to swallow for BLEED, with their Serbian coach branding the exit "embarrassing" in a post-match tweet.

Closed Qualifier B was a more subdued affair, as the favorites had already secured their spots at the RMR. OG were bested by Sashi in the biggest clash of the round to miss out on their second consecutive Major, while Rebels won the Polish derby against Permitta to secure a spot.

The final RMR berth went to Nemiga, who beat Insilio in a three-map series that spanned 73 rounds.

the only way for koi to fix the roster is going international they could also go br/pt/sp mix but it might not end up well since br is fishy region

If it's fishy, don't you think it would go very well for a org named KOI? :v

They should bring someone instead of stadodo because he was IGLing before (and now he isn't) and he's not performing as he should most of the time. It's either that or they find their form again / approach rounds a bit different

Deserved, these teams just didn't have what it takes. Goes to show how incredibly quick the floor of professional counter-strike has risen. Love to see it, and makes me even more excited for the open circuit season start of 2025.

Side-note: This new SINNERS looks damn good. Wonder how deep their stratbook is, and big their mappool is as their full 5-man roster hasn't been together for too long yet. Watch out for them!

I mean they sucked for a long while with this roster. Then one day everything clicked and they started winning all of the matches

Yeah, I think they always had a strong core, now from the outside it just seems they found the remaining pieces. I might be talking too soon of course, but it's looking great so far! Hope they keep it up for the actual RMRs.

at least they got to the last major. i can tell you how rough is being a sinners fan since the 2-3 in antwerp rmrs it was one disaster after another. 2 times in row 3rd in ecl just missing on the epl slot, 2 times finalists at cct. and like 5 times finalists at czech lans always losing to eclot. btw last time they won an international tournament was in 2021.. (if not counting czech lans that last one was in 2022) this rmr cq is like the first time they managed to do something

the thing is that you'd expect koi to win at least 1 of the 3 bo3 they played against supposedly lower tier opposition, but they still managed to throw a 9-3 lead in ct side nuke against unity, who i believe had only won 20% of their nuke games over the last 3 months. the worrying thing is that they need to change at least stadodo but we don't have awpers (or players in general) to do so. sunpayus and martinez wont leave their respective teams to play for koi, so we just have to accept that this is the roster they'll play with unless they go international (which i hope never happens again) or they get try (probably wont happen because he just signed with imperial and he'd have to move to eu, which he surely wouldn't want)

they could get an awper from brazil right tho? i believe there are some fine awpers there although players from sa are apparently very expensive

I think considering the other rosters which qualified amd have players with no experience in tier1, they expected to at least make the rmr, yes

koi and bleed both strong on paper and both showed us that they're bo1 merchants, both went 1-6 (maps) after going 2-0 up..
