Jame and company denied Falcons the three-peat to survive their second day in Belgrade, Serbia.
Virtus.pro live to fight another day at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade after securing a 2-1 victory over Falcons in the first lower bracket match in the playoffs.
In the third encounter between the two sides since August 12, the Russian side took their revenge after being eliminated early from IEM Cologne and from the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown by Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and company.
It could have just as easily been a three-peat, but Virtus.pro recovered from a terrible start on Mirage at the beginning of the series to make sure it goes to three maps after Falcons put on a clinic on Vertigo.
On the deciding Ancient, Virtus.pro cruised to a comfortable victory, with a Dzhami "Jame" Ali 1v1 early on the defensive side paving the way to an 8-1 finish to the half, and a Petr "fame" Bolyshev 1v3 in the second pistol giving the Russians plenty of space to close the series.
With the loss, Falcons have been eliminated in 7th-8th place at BetBoom Dacha and ended a busy week on a low note.
The team played 13 matches across the play-in stage, the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, the IEM Rio closed qualifier and the playoffs in Belgrade but only came away with a place at the BLAST Premier Fall Final after a great start to the week quickly turned sour.
