HEROIC out of BetBoom Dacha in last place

There's no end in sight to HEROIC's woes in the new season as they suffer another early exit.

HEROIC have been eliminated in joint-last place from the playoffs at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade following a 0-2 loss to Eternal Fire.

The international side fell to the lower bracket following a loss to paiN in the first round and barely put up a fight against the Turks on day two. They got off to 1-11 and 2-6 starts on the Terrorist sides of Mirage and Anubis, respectively, and could never recover.

The disappointing finish follows a string of early exits from HEROIC dating back to the beginning of the season.

Their woes began when Abdul "⁠degster⁠" Gasanov was unable to travel with the team to the BLAST Premier Fall Groups and the first day of IEM Cologne, and continued when the Russian AWPer returned to the lineup, with HEROIC eliminated early from Cologne by FURIA and the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown at the hands of OG.

HEROIC then found a brief respite when they qualified for IEM Rio earlier this week, but the downward spiral immediately resumed in Belgrade, where they faced two more teams ranked outside of the top 10 without success.

They are now back to the drawing board with just a few days left before they travel to their next stop in Malta, for the ESL Pro League Season 20 group stage. There, HEROIC are set to face off against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the first round, on September 3.
