Further match delays at TG

Fresh reports from The Gathering indicate that matches will be delayed another two hours or so. Players are currently testing the power grid.

Just a couple of hours ago we reported that the tournament matches at The Gathering would be postponed until 12:30 due to power cuts. More problems have now turned up and yet again the matches will have to be delayed.

What is causing these power cuts is said to be a problem with the grounding (earth), and the organizers are doing their outmost to locate the source. The problem is only affecting the tournament area, and not the whole event.

The players are currently playing test matches so see if the power grid holds. The admins believe the matches can go on around 15:00 CET, two hours from now.

We will be monitoring the activity at The Gathering 2010, so pay close attention to our website for all the updates.

Read the budget, it's all there. I've studyed financial law and I looked over many federal budgets. There's too much money spend on military , social secuirity wastes a lot etc.

Ok, ok, many of events had delays, even bigger than this. It's natural that there may be some delays on every tournament. But it's still sad.

Some delays?! Like 7 hours delay? I've never seen this kind of delay. And IEM had a big one.

problems actually come from the fact that no real professionals are dedicated to this kind of events this is more like... amateur, despite those many times we call it "professional" nice try anyway, thanks to these efforts we're making it grow I think

I don't know about you, but I hate watching matches half way and they go "game pending" for hours. It's a mood killer to me. :p Especially that EGxfnatic match, I was like maaaaaaaaaaannn come on. But yes, IEM 4 was not as terrible as this. Still annoying as hell though!

This is probably the fault of old cabling in the buildings :( It can't handle the power usage and the circuitry is overloaded :( If that is the case there is not much the orga can do about it :( They should have checked it before the event

yes despite the power cuts, (indicated by the monitors being off) there is music, lighting, some kind of disco lights in the backgrounds, and other lights on other things. Obvious April Fools :D
