FaZe get revenge on Sangal to make EPL playoffs

FaZe ensured their recent modest upswing in form continued by besting Sangal 2-0.

FaZe avenged their opening game loss against Sangal to grab a playoff berth at ESL Pro League Season 20, beating the European side 2-0 thanks to wins on Anubis (13-11) and Dust2 (13-5).

Sangal's journey in Malta is not over despite their loss as the Last Change Stage awaits them. There they will face the winner of FlyQuest vs. Lynn Vision.

FaZe's form began to turn sour just prior to the player break after an immense streak to kick off CS2, culminating in a disappointing early exit at the hands of Ninjas in Pyjamas at BLAST Premier Fall Groups. Since that failure Finn "⁠karrigan⁠" Andersen and co. have improved in their play amidst a playoff run at IEM Cologne and romp through BLAST Showdown.

Sangal threatened to crash FaZe's rising stock by defeating them in their ESL Pro League opener, but FaZe have since recovered and were vastly improved in the rematch.

A strong CT side on Anubis set the stage for Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard to steal the show on the offensive half and secure the map, before FaZe utterly decimated Sangal on Dust2 as karrigan loudly goaded his opponents throughout.

FaZe have plenty to be pleased about following this result. After dropping Anubis 2-13 in the first series, FaZe flipped the script in the rematch, and rain, David "⁠frozen⁠" Čerňanský and Robin "⁠ropz⁠" Kool were all in excellent form.

Sangal meanwhile haven't quite been able to build on the promise of their early upset result, beating HEROIC but suffering fairly convincing losses to Eternal Fire and FaZe to fall to the Last Chance Stage.
