The Gathering group A & C recap

The first match day at The Gathering has been concluded, and even though there has been a ton of delays, teams in group A and C have learned their fates.

Since many have not been able to watch all the matches and follow the action due to delays, we now give you an in-depth report from group A and C's playday.

Let's take a closer look at the groups:

Group A

1. Finland Playzone.fi
2. Norway Expert-Gaming
3. United Kingdom Team Dignitas
4. Norway demise

Playzone came out on top in their group, beating every team except a 15-15 match against Team Dignitas. Demise did not turn out to be any big test for the Finns as they faced a 3-27 loss.

Expert-Gaming have impressed nearly everyone in the group stage, especially when they played a 14-16 versus Playzone. The Norwegians also sent Team Dignitas home after beating them with a 17-13 score.

HLTV.org has been on the phone with Expert-Gaming member Kristoffer "PAH" Røgeberg, who told us that the match against Playzone was quite unexpected, but it felt good proving themselves against such a high caliber team. "Our goal for the playoffs is to win a match, or two, at least. We are also aiming for the WCG Nordic spot", Røgeberg noted.

Group C

1. Poland Frag eXecutors
2. Sweden H2k Gaming
3. United Kingdom vVv Gaming
4. Norway LastBreath

Not unexpectedly, Frag eXecutors have been slicing and dicing teams through the group stage, not losing a single match. The same goes for H2k Gaming, although they lost one match against the Polish powerhouse (8-22).

Stay tuned tomorrow, as group B and D will start off at 09:00 CET. Unlike today, no problems are expected as the powergrid issue has been resolved.

Interesting the "only" in, The same goes for H2k Gaming, who only lost 8-22 against the Polish powerhouse. ::)

I think that the word only there refers to the fact that they only lost one game, versus fx. It would be weird if the word "only" would be placed after the word "lost", thus changing the meaning drastically. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, you're right. But in that case the whole sentence needed restructuring.

Please excuse my silly Norwegian dialect, it's most likely because of it. :)

Indeed it would be more drastic after "lost" but still right now it states as if it had been a close match. As for what you say, just as #23 has stated, the whole sentence would need a change.

only 8:22 , hmm maybe only true , but i think after 1:5 for Fx in second half they dont have 2 push that hard . but its my opinion. Other way Fx its powerhouse:]

I think he meant that h2k only lost that match, not that they only lost 8-22 :p

Cheering for United vs FX in the finals and ofc a United win. Expecting Expert-Gaming to clutch the 3rd place after a devastating bo3 vs h2k!
