ESL Pro League Season 20FURIA recover from 1-13 drubbing to send RED Canids to the Last Chance Stage
Virtus.pro triumphed in a hard-fought matchup on the other stream to relegate Falcons to a fight for their tournament life.
Virtus.pro and FURIA have set up a faceoff in the group D lower bracket final, where they will contest a playoff berth, thanks to victories over Falcons and RED Canids respectively. The latter pair of squads will now have to fight for their tournament survival in the Last Chance Stage.

Both games could be considered grudge matches, as Virtus.pro and Falcons have played on numerous occasions in 2024 in what has become a back-and-forth rivalry, whilst Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo was facing off against his old Major-winning partner Marcelo "coldzera" David as FURIA took on RED Canids.
The B stream saw FURIA forced to recover from a 1-13 spanking on Anubis, where David "dav1deuS" Tapia Maldonado put them to the sword, to earn their series victory.
Nuke was a convincing affair in FURIA's favour, RED Canids simply gave up far too many rounds on the favoured CT side, before a hard-fought battle ensued on Vertigo.
The map swung back and forth and could easily have gone either way, but a vital FalleN 4k late in the map was enough to sent RED Canids down to the Last Chance Stage.

Falcons and Virtus.pro contested a long series over on the A stream that was decided by the slimmest of margins.
Virtus.pro seemed set to take Dust2 after pistol wins in both halves ensured they were in the driver's seat throughout, but Falcons conjured up several round wins late on their T side from unlikely scenarios to force OT, and ultimately steal away the map.
A similar story played out on Vertigo, except it was Falcons who got up to 12-9 playing on the CT side and were set to seal the map. Virtus.pro were the ones who brought some magic to the table on this occasion, turning a vital 2v4 late in proceedings to get to overtime and the eventual map victory.
Virtus.pro should certainly have closed Ancient out in a more straightforward fashion than they did, having led 9-1 in the first half. An uninspired T side, which simply ran headfirst into Falcons' passive defensive setups, nearly cost the Russians, but a successful B execute was followed up by a well-timed contact play out onto A to tie up the series in their favour.
