VP move past FURIA to reach EPL playoffs

Virtus.pro are the next team to secure a playoff spot at ESL Pro League S20 after outlasting FURIA in a three-map series (Dust2 14-16, Vertigo 13-7, Mirage 13-7).

Dzhami "⁠Jame⁠" Ali's troops have now secured an appearance in the first round of playoffs in Malta, beating RED Canids, Falcons, and FURIA to secure progression through the group stage.

For FURIA, this isn't the end of the road in Malta. The Brazilian squad has one more chance to make it to the playoffs, but will need to first beat ATOX before besting the winner of RED Canids vs. Falcons.

Virtus.pro went for the Dust2 pick in the series, but couldn't get a stranglehold in the game as Jame and Kaike "⁠KSCERATO⁠" Cerato exchanged blows during a 6-6 first half.

Despite Virtus.pro's solid start to the second half that got them an 11-7 lead, they couldn't close the game in regular time. Felipe "⁠skullz⁠" Medeiros then shined in overtime, racking up 11 kills in six rounds to guide his team to a 16-14 win.

Virtus.pro struck back on Vertigo with the help of both pistol rounds and a dominant offensive half, as they turned a 5-7 deficit into a 13-7 win after eight straight rounds on the T side.

On the Mirage decider, FURIA won a full eco in the second round but couldn't run away with the half, with the teams ending the first half with six apiece. After the switch, Virtus.pro prevailed in the force-buy wars, with Jame and company winning six in a row to secure their playoff spot.

They get the easiest possible way to semi finals (Mongolz, EF and Imperial/M80) where they meet Vitality and Vitality struggles against VP

Their recent results are good though? Close 1-2 loss against Spirit and they managed to beat them in Cologne, VP can only dream of winning at least 1 map off Spirit since they got sh1ro. The only somewhat bad result is losing to 3dmax. I dont even consider loss against snaptap abusers from SAW as something bad since Faze managed to lose against them too.

Beating Cologne Spirit is something to be proud about ? They barely made playoffs from lower bracket beating KOI and 9Z. The only good showing for them was a close game against Spirit in Malta.

Yes why not? What "barely" bro, they literally won their matches 2-0. A small upset happened in the first match against 3dmax similiar to sangal-faze, but still they won the grudge match against them 2-0 in the end.

Safee is a good option. I have seen some good plays by him. But then someone needs to IGL. Dont know if there is a secondary caller. But 0.79 rating as an awper is just unacceptable
